Re: What are you doing today ??
Went out cycling....lost my keys/keyring with my multi-tool, my Swiss Army knife, etc.
Luckily I have spare keys, but it's still pi$$ing me off...especially as I'm fairly sure I know where I left them, and I'm also fairly sure they won't be there by the time I go back. Can't believe I did that. F@ck!

More cycling. A short ride, and taking it easy as I'm still a bit buggered from yesterday's ride, but the weather is perfect for it (rain is forecast for later in the week).

Re: What are you doing today ??
I had a very short notice trip to my local hospital for a physio therapy assessment on my left shoulder, they only called yesterday.
The verdict is that my shoulder is healing very well, no pain and a normal range of movement so no further treatment.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Yeah I am thankful for that, just this right hand to fix up now, the ligaments are healing slowly for my index and middle fingers but the inner ligament in my thumb has torn and keeps getting pulled apart by the tendon next to it.
I'm booked in for a consultation tomorrow morning in York hospital to see what's happening next, maybe a plaster cast to completely immobilise the thumb, maybe surgery. First task is to do battle with "Mad Friday" traffic in York, should be fun.
Today I took Sergio to gutsibits to get some prices for the mods he wants to do with his Mondello, de-cat and a remap.. I think he likes it. As a thank you he paid for lunch at a farm shop and café near Huddersfield which was excellent
they have a whole lot of trophies and plaques in the shop for the quality of the things they sell.
Bolster Moor Farmshop.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Well, I really REALLY don't feel like doing any cycling today, so the best thing for me to do is go out for a ride.
A quick 15 miles or so ought to be enough to shake the cobwebs loose.
Plus I have new gloves to break in...any excuse. I suppose.

Parallels with over here in little old blighty Mr Krasher...kiwikrasher wrote: ↑12 Dec 2024, 01:31 Pulled a massive yacca plant out from near our front door steps.
To paraphrase your mucka Paul Hogan "That's not a tree, this is a tree,,"

Also growing at our front door. Over 1m diameter trunk ( I had to use my 900mm saw from both sides of the cut, as it wouldn't reach).
The top branches were easily tall enough that if it fell they would land on neighbour's houses.
After the recent storms I discovered that it was starting to lean across the road towards them, and getting lower day by day !
Squeeky bum time for me felling it.: Over the main road (ok, so a country lane but nonthless,,,) and my 5m ladder was not tall enough, so I had to climb up from the ladder and take the top boughs off with my chainsaw one handed...

That’s a serious tree job and a serious bar on that chainsaw!! Glad it went ok mate, sounds like lots of potential for calamity!
I finally got the stump broken down and disposed off today. 9 large wheel barrows worth of dirt and roots that took me over four hours to break off it with a mattock. Chainsawed it in half and able to just move each half onto the trailer. Quick trip down a quiet bush track and left them to biodegrade where no one will ever see them.

I'm going to see a friend boxing. It's a regional title so it's pretty serious.

Like almost everyone else, today I'm playing guitar and working on non-resolving chords & the Lydian dominant scale.
They're a mind-fcuk if ever there was one.
What's next...jazz?.? God help me.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Yesterday backfilled the garden void of the yucca with new garden mix and planted our rosemary bush in it (old neighbours gifted it to us when they left), bunch of hedge trimming, lawns and mulching, then a dip in the pool to cool down.
Today I’ve started sanding and painting. While the whole yucca saga was unfolding, I also had a couple of builders here for 8 days tearing down and rebuilding about 50% of our decking around the house. We’d done a rebuild of the worst half when I bought the place and the second half was well over due. Now they are done I’m getting it painted. Taking the opportunity to change the colour of the deck and wood sections of the house (mainly brick) which was mustard colour. Will be a stoney light brown now.

Guess who doesn't snooze his alarm but switched it off and slept for another 2 hours
To make matters worse I had a load of work waiting for me.

I went to three different stores yesterday looking for a 2025 calendar. No luck.
Got home and there was a promo one laying on the doormat.
It'll work for a while until I can get one that's a decent size.
