Re: Jack's Updates
Sorry to hear that mate but I'm just glad you're still stepping!
Mallory sounds great, you gonna take snaps?

Re: Jack's Updates
Bit of a downturn today , couldn't breathe when I woke up , after a couple of goes on my nebuliser was more comfortable, saw the doctor who confirmed another chest infection and told me the bottom half of my right lung has ceased to function , it will not return to working order even if the chest infection is cured. Bugger .

That's not what you want to hear, is it. Does this mean you're no longer doing the London marathon?

I thought you'd be going for something more exotic like syphilis or gonorrhea...
Gutted for you mate but glad the nebuliser helped at least! That's something.

Re: Jack's Updates
Chest infections are tiresome enough for the rest of us Jack, hope you manage to throw it off soon.
Fwiw back when I was doing my DoE, part of it involved working after school & weekends at a large local authority care home (don't think such places exist now). I recall that quite a number of the residents had to be prepared for bed in an upright seating position. Obviously I asked why this was , as it seemed unnatural to me. I was informed that the residents with chronic breathing difficulties were the ones we set to sleep "upright", as apparently it helps alleviate them especially when they first wake up in the morning. I was also informed that (apparently) lying down to sleep is a fairly recent development.
Hth.

Get well soon, Jack.
Sounds like you might have to cut back on the all nighter orgies for a bit.

Re: Jack's Updates
I was a bit emotional when I left, he'd mentioned a future meet which surprised me but I didn't imagine I'd get to meet him again. I'm just glad he enjoyed himself, even if it would have taken its toll on him.

Re: Jack's Updates
I never had the pleasure to meet Jack in person, but such was the man, I'm going to miss him all the same. RIP old buddy
