Every lent I go sugar free. The first couple of weeks are like going through a detox.

I'm not touching artificial sweeteners either for the same reason as you and they taste awful .

Good to read that they are cracking on with your treatment Jack, and that you're coping with it.

I swear, you can almost taste the manufacturing process right there in your cup.... it's like someone put three drops of bleach into your drink.Kwacky wrote:

Yes, but that's not bleach for your coffee, that bleach is just for killing Covid.

Re: Jack's Updates
I feel pretty rough this week , I reckon I've got a chest infection or a cold , it's on the way out so am starting to feel a bit better , hopefully be gone before I'm due to start treatment again , overall chemo has been far easier than I was expecting , it hasn't been pleasant but I've had plenty of support and think I've managed it pretty well , stayed as active as I could and tried to keep my diet regular even when eating is the last thing I want to do . I am reasonably hopeful that the scan results will be positive .

Re: Jack's Updates
I get a full body scan after I've completed the last round of chemo , then we move onto radiotherapy targeting any other areas that show infection and my head , mainly as a precautionary measure unless the cancer is already present .

Re: Jack's Updates
chest infection confirmed, on antibiotics for a week , and final chemo treatment also delayed by a week .
scan results show a slight reduction in the mass in the lung , left adrenal gland very swollen but apparently a good thing as the centre of the tumour is necrotic . Lost a little weight but understandable because of the chest infection .
feeling weak and very tired hopefully an extra week to recover will get me back on track .

Re: Jack's Updates
I'm not surprised after the regime you've been through in the last few months, you must be weaker with all that going on.Jack wrote: ↑10 Nov 2022, 14:55 chest infection confirmed, on antibiotics for a week , and final chemo treatment also delayed by a week .

I hope you can get some rest and feel better - good news about the reduction.
Keep fighting mate.

Re: Jack's Updates
Currently sat in the hospital waiting for the first of my IV bags to arrive from the pharmacy, hopefully this is the final round of chemotherapy, hoping to recover soon enough to be able to enjoy the festive season. Full scan is scheduled for four weeks time so I should get the results of that just in time for Christmas.
