It's that time again
I've just had my renewal - £532.59
It's not too bad considering I've got 2 pretty new sport(ish) bikes. I was hoping for sub £500 but the SX isn't cheap to insure, especially since they rebranded it as a Ninja.
I'll give them a call as I think they've done me out of a year of NCB

Re: It's that time again
Managed to get it down to £480.
Cornmarket told me that the SX is the problem. Switching bikes causes a rise in the premium, you're at a high risk in the first twelve months of ownership. Plus the ninja name increases the insurance.
There's a £10 difference between the MV and the Kawasaki if they switch which one is my main bike.

Doesn't it come round quickly?
I've had my renewal, which is 10% higher than last year's premium.
Who is everyone using?

Re: It's that time again
I've been with Bennetts for the last 4 years and it's varied between £94 and £136. Not really worth a phone call.
I think they might be looking at the pathetic mileage on my MOTs

Re: It's that time again
I've just done an online quote with Bennett's and they're coming in £175 cheaper than Cornmarket.
I've got a month so I'll start calling around.

Re: It's that time again
Bemoto is mine and they seem very good so far. My renewal was down £150 this year.
That said car insurance has gone through the roof. The renewal on that is up by £150.

Re: It's that time again
Kawasaki direct gave me a quote of £235 for the sx. I gave them the details for the MV to see what that would be. They were going to pass it over to the multi bike team who would call me in an hour.
That was 7 hours ago.

Re: It's that time again
I had a missed call today. When I checked the number it's BikeSure/Adrian Flux. It's the same area as Kawasaki Insurance so I suspect they are one and the same.
They didn't leave a message or try to call back and there's been no more emails so I'm guessing they can't beat the Bennett's quote

Re: It's that time again
Cornmarket called. They couldn't match the Bennetts offer.
It turns out that they load up the policy with extras to do with IAM, so I can do training days, observations, skill schools and ride to more than one place of work.
AXA Insurance via Cornmarket will match any quote I've had and knock 10% off, so I'm going to send them the Bennetts quote.

Re: It's that time again
I've used these for years, they do multiple bikes too https://www.motorcycledirect.co.uk/moto ... insurance/ I'm paying a lot less than you've been quoted Kwacky. I also get the usual extras of breakdown, leathers... bikes are GSX-R 750 K5 and a 2015 Ducati Scrambler.

Re: It's that time again
This year's renewal is almost twice what I paid last year.
You can see why so many people don't bother to get insurance

I paid £325 last year
Carole Nash just quoted me £707.60 with Ageas insurance.
Cornmarket is 594 with Novitas and 604 with Ageas.
