Lord of the Rings
I see there's plans to do a 5 season TV series.
It'll be based a few thousand years before the Trilogy. So I presume that will be around the time of Sauron coming to power for the first time.

Re: Lord of the Rings
I guess the producers are hoping it will ride on the coattails of Game Of Thrones??
I'm not much of a fan of the whole fantasy genre, but the LOTR movies were surprisingly good - and also surprisingly long, even without the extended yawn special editions.
The Hobbit seemed like a bit of a lackluster encore in comparison.

Re: Lord of the Rings
I'm a bad kiwi in that I have never seen even one of the LOTR movies in it entirety, I tried the first one and feel asleep about 30 mins in
A TV series I could probably manage.
Maybe I should give the LOTR movies another crack while I'm in quarantine.

So do I watch the Hobbit ones first to be in chronological order? My only exposure to any of it is reading the Hobbit as a teenager.
