2021 Isle of Man TT
A decision about the 2021 races is due before Christmas.
I wouldn't let it go ahead. There's too much uncertainty about the virus and how we can tackle it. Teams will need to start building and prepping for it shortly. I know a lot of teams are involved in other races but the TT is still a big financial commitment. Will they want to start spending money for it if there's a risk it'll be cancelled?
I suspect there's pressure from those on the Island who rely on the money the TT brings.

Re: 2021 Isle of Man TT
Personally I think they should wait another year.
I would guess a small place like the IOM has limited hospital capacity and the virus would spread very quickly through the whole island if it took hold.
As it stands it’s not possible to travel to the IOM unless it’s for business or you are a resident.

I would think that most on the Island regardless of the revenue it brings would be happy to postpone until we know things are clear. Are they not clear of covid at present.

Next year had always been the year I’d planned to come over, being my 50th. But even if it was running I couldn’t commit anyway as we aren’t able to leave Australia without a valid reason atm.

Only decision they could make.
Makes you wonder if it will ever return on quite the same level.
I know Goose used to say there were people living on the Island with some sway in Government who wanted it cancelled for good.

There's always been someone who wants it cancelled. Bikers love it...the rest of the world couldn't give a toss about it one way or the other.

It'll be easy for them to reduce the visitor numbers for subsequent TTs. I suspect they'll off set it with more live stream options.

Re: 2021 Isle of Man TT
Wasn’t there some push to go that way a few years back? Less spectator access and more TV/Streaming rights to squeeze more money out of it. COVID will play into the hands of that direction.Kwacky wrote:It'll be easy for them to reduce the visitor numbers for subsequent TTs. I suspect they'll off set it with more live stream options.

Yep, they fenced off a load of 'dangerous' areas. They were the best onesKwacky wrote:From memory they were restricting the number of spectator areas.

I don't get why Amsterdam is so popular , weed and whores are available everywhere and canals are boring .

Re: 2021 Isle of Man TT
As a Brummie I have to object to your suggestion that canals are boring. I mean they are, but theres a lot of nice places around our canals.
Amsterdam has changed a lot over the years. They've made an effort to force out the weed and sex tourists. The rules have changed a lot which means there are fewer places to smoke and you're supposed to be a resident. Hotel prices are very expensive.
Personally I would go to Barcelona. There's a few cannabis clubs you can join, the women are fitter, the weather is dryer and warmer and the food is so much better.

There's the Barcelona/Catalunya circuit just down the road.
