99% of the ones I saw are new or nearly new, have one person in it and are being used to take the driver to and from work.

And they can dr Ve them either, I cringe when I get caught up in the school run, most of the cars are SUV, with males and females driving, who do not have a scoobie! And drive like the clpapers in a school zone (20 mph) squeezing between cars nealry taking out mine...... no skill just blind luck they make it.....

These will the first to stream from the roof tops if there's was an accident...... man nobody seems to give a shit anymore.


As for the thread, I think an electric car, proper car with good mileage would be great. But I really don't see the practicality. Urban street, two three cars per household, just looking on my own street I have twats parking outside my house and walking halfway up the street in to theirs. Many if the gaffs done my road seem difficult to have become rented properties and not for families, but three, four seperste people all with their own car.

How is everyone supposed to charge their cars, when they are where ever they can park them.... mine is bad, but big city streets are even worse.

On a plus, I went past the flooded electric car park yesterday, seems the water has gone done, but not one bay in use ha ha .

My journey home form work last Wednesday, it took me 25 minutes to travel 11 miles, then the last mile took another 20 minutes simply because it was one long line of cars waiting to get across two junctions. And its all because they have built new houses just up the road from us. And the worst part is that only half the houses have been built and filled. What happens when the next lot are built and sold?

There is no thought going into the local infrastructure when they build these new estates. It can't cope.

The Internal combustion engine is NOT the problem. Nor is plastic, or intercontinental flights etc....
These are all distractions, or excuses to be fussed over. Spending all our time & energy focusing on green issues, simply allows us to be blinkered from the actual (exponentially increasing) threat to the planet.:

Euthanasia is a subject we've touched on before, isn't it Duke63. Iirc your opinions on the subject aren't poles apart from mine in that regard.??

Besides, if we don't "think like that" it is the the whole planetary ecostructure (including us) that will be killed.
Not accepting the fact, because it's unpleasant & must impact on us individually, is precisely why the problem is continuing to escalate..
Humans are inherently selfish.
To save the planet Humans need to become philanthropic. As they will (can) not all make that change individually, it seems that society ( or governments, as you put it) will need to apply that change upon us.?

The problem the other day was too few people in too many cars. I don’t think that really is related to over population, just us all being very selfish. I wish I could get rid of my car in all honesty as it’s an expensive item that will probably be worth sweet f a in a few years time. If Government give me the tools to travel in another way then I will happily do that.

I have actually started looking at electric scooters to see if that viable especially if bought as a business vehicle.
