Been for a free hearing test at Spec Savers today as my hearing in my right ear is not as good as it was and I have continuous tinnitus.
I did think it might be ear wax but a quick check proved otherwise.
After being tested it does seem I have a problem in that ear but it would appear not to be nerve damage. I was given a letter to get my doctor to refer me to a specialist to investigate further. It's possible it might be a type of glue ear which i might be able to have treated . Nerve damage is permanent.
Fingers crossed.

Re: Hearing problems
I enquired about private treatment as there is likely to be a long waiting list apparently.

Re: Hearing problems
Fingers crossed Duke they can sort you out soon and nothing permanent, lose of hearing is bad
I get problems with my ears approx 2 times a year I get hard wax build up. Used to go to docs and they would syringe it inside 2 mins, now the have changed tactics and send people to hospital for it which means a 3 month waiting list. I had it done earlier this year after waiting months and now I've got the same issue. I put oil in my ears every so often but I think I get it worse than most as my misses never gets a problem but for me its twice a year regardless, gets to a point of not being able to eat (which isn't a bad thing at the moment
). It is what it is though I'm trying to help myself but can't help some things
