From an engineering point of view I suspect they have more benefit on a naked as by it's very design it has less weight over the front.

However for that type of bike I get where your going, but perhaps a better question is why does a naked have 208bhp? As without that wings would most definitely have less benefit / requirement

Each to their own i guess but as said 208bhp is pointless on a naked bike. Mine has 80bhp less and it's still more than you need on a naked bike.
