Re: Silverstone Motogp 2019
I'm not suprised. They will have to resurface the whole thing first.
Thing is they might not get it back if they lose it.
Stick them round Mallory - that would be a laugh

Re: Silverstone Motogp 2019
Nothing at the moment. They are arguing over who is going to pay for it.

Re: Silverstone Motogp 2019
I thought Dorna would only award them the rights to host Motogp if they confirmed it would be resurfaced. I guess the resurfacing delays are now what is causing the problem.
It would be a shame if they lost it but tbh after last year I wouldn't rush back anyway.

Re: Silverstone Motogp 2019
But will there be a British MotoGP though? I do agree though it shouldn't take place at Silverstone until they sort out the track surface, that was ridiculous last year

Re: Silverstone Motogp 2019
I don't think any other UK track currently reaches sufficient standard to host it.

Re: Silverstone Motogp 2019
I think Mat Oxley also posted a piece about Brands Hatch and the run offs.
Bikes in BSB have been known to clear the fencing at Brands BSB meets and his article explained how the extra speed of a Motogp bike would make a significant increase in the distance it would travel in the event of a crash.

Re: Silverstone Motogp 2019
Donington is the only viable option apart from Silverstone but even Donington needs some work doing to comply with what the FIA and Dorna want in order to host a MotoGP , I am pretty sure that MSV will be looking closely at what needs doing and the costs involved to bring it back to Donington .

Re: Silverstone Motogp 2019
Track being resurfaced in June by Tarmac ( not the company who did it before) and Motogp signed up until 2021.

Re: Silverstone Motogp 2019
At bloody last. Taken them long enough to decide. Couldnt agree more with not using the same company. Hope that company paid out big though for making Silverstone miss the MotoGP last year
