Niccolo Canepa on an R1 at Mugello this week.
The thing that really stands out for me is how hard and late he is braking.
I bet the other guys out there thought they were going quickly.

Jeez, he runs deep in those turns!
And he goes round people on the outside, which is hard to fathom....at least for me.

You can see the effort he is putting in. Makes the others look like a novice group! wow.

He’s left a trail of shattered egos in his wake...
That is possibly the biggest mismatch in speed I’ve seen on track.

I seem to remember Randy De Puniet doing something similar at a trackday at Silverstone - I think Frankie was there .

He looks like he's just on the edge of losing control. So much skill.

The racer's mentality. Go as fast as you can until you crash then draw it back a tiny notch. That's how Marquez works as he has alluded to a number of times. Great theory until that one crash that hurts you big time.

Fortunately highsides are rare these days so with airbag suits and big run offs even if they low side they are likely to walk away.
Safety has come on along way which it's had to really to match the speeds, but still a good thing.
