What are you reading?
A new thread for those who like a good read.
Currently reading this - Sapiens - A brief history of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari
https://www.waterstones.com/book/sapien ... 0099590088" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Possibly the most thought-provoking book i have ever read, telling the story of Homo Sapiens from when he became the only human type left on earth and his journey (mainly of destruction) ever since.
If you like to read something that makes you reassess everything you thought you knew, then this is the book. Quite brilliant.

Antonio Carluccio’s memoirs, I’d give a kidney for half his food knowledge and experience.

Ive been re reading War of the Worlds, probably the 6th or so time Ive read it, also reading an autobiography of Rory Gallagher too but that's been a hard read, the writer has written it as if you know everyone he is talking about personally, amazing career though

Re: What are you reading?
I first read War of the Worlds in the school summer holidays in 1976 , I knew the locations in the book and cycled there to read that part of the book and followed the route as I read the book , my mum went mental when she found out I'd cycled into central london aged 11 on my yellow chopper .....

HAHA that's awesome, I heard jeff waynes musical at a very young age before I read the book, my dad had just set up a big home stereo with panned speakers with a vinyl player and he got a copy and made us listen to it during a thunderstorm, It blew me away, scared me for life, seriously you would not believe the nightmares I had for years! and sparked a life long love of that story, I think I 1st read the book when I was about 11 before I started secondary school, and have read it every few years since then, including using It as a study piece for my A level English coursework, I was in Woking the other weekend so thought it would be rude not to read it again.Jack wrote:I first read War of the Worlds in the school summer holidays in 1976 , I knew the locations in the book and cycled there to read that part of the book and followed the route as I read the book , my mum went mental when she found out I'd cycled into central london aged 11 on my yellow chopper .....

Tankslap!
It's about the only thing I really read these days
I'm so lazy that when I do fancy a book, I get someone to read it to me..

Currently reading Red Mars by Kim Stanley Robinson. 20+ years old but still good.
Forgot to add I read Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie before my current book, odd to get into, but compelling if you like modern SF.
