Saturday 1st July - Evening Wales run
I'll firm up the details and meeting points but there looks like there's enough interest in this to create an event.
The plan is to do the famous A483 a couple of times in the evening. As most people do the Wales roads on a Sunday in the morning hopefully the road will be quite and plod will be in the boozer.
I think Duke, Rocket and Blade will meet up before heading to Newtown.
I'm travelling from South Brum. Depending who wants to join me and at what time I might do the A483 from Crossgates to Newtown and then meet the others up in Newtown at the McDonalds. I'm around from about 3pm.
I propose we meet up in Newtown at 6pm. That will give us 3 hours daylight to play with.

If you've got 3 hours you could easily do Newtown to Llandovery and back. The B4358 between Newbridge on Wye and Beulah is an absolutely stunning road and it rejoins the A483 down to Llandovery.

I'll go with the flow but my thought is a little too late.
If we have 3 hours playing around and chatting which will flybe we would then have a 2.5 hour ride home in the dark
Just my thoughts what do other people think ?

I might head up there a bit earlier too as I would ideally like to be back home for 9 as the lights are shite on the 748. But I doubt we will venture far from the 483 so can still meet up at 6 at McDonalds if it suits.

5?
It's over 2 hours for me to get to Newtown and I've got my grading in the morning.
If 5 is too late carry on without me and I'll do the 483.

I apologise if that came across any way other than I intended, which is me saying I'm more than happy for you guys to meet up earlier.
No offence intended whatsoever.
Apologies.

Re: Saturday 1st July - Evening Wales run
I was hoping to be able to make this, but the shoulder pain is too much for that amount of riding. Plus if I do have to take a pain killer they are not bike compatible.
Have fun guys, maybe next time.

A mixture of paracetamol and codeine, and the same nerve suppressants as perkles is taking.Blade wrote:Didn't realise you were injured Nutz. I don't want to hijack the thread is there another post ?

The main one is at the Craven Arms from 1st July! The A49 is closed from Ludlow to the Craven Arms. Which is my route. There are also some roadworks around Owestry. Not sure if that impacts on anyone coming from the other direction?
