Head or Heart?
Head or Heart, which would you go for?
Head
Heart
Really can't decide, both very similar in performance and available for similar money, age, mileage.

The one that you look at and it makes you smile.
You can't really go wrong with either bike.
Have you ridden both? Some of the posters on 675cc say that the latest version of their bike doesn't have the same soul of previous models and is too close to the Jap bikes.

Re: Head or Heart?
If it were me the 675 for the noise but as Kwacky says there isn't enough difference to make the choice anything other than which one would you want to open the garage door for and see it waiting for you.
Plus you have the best Triumph dealer in the UK not far from you in Stoke.

I think you can guess which way I vote
I think your head can choose Daytona as well as your heart. Mine's been totally reliable and does everything I've asked it to. I believe the zx6 is a great bike too but never tried one. Just for your information the Daytona had an update in 2009 and is generally considered to be the one to go for rather than previous 06-09.

Re: Head or Heart?
I can't help but think that the ZX is the swiss watch and the Daytona is semi exotic and will need a bit of tinkering. My Daytona 650 was pretty reliable over the 7 years I had it, right up to the point that the gear box ate the crank case. I can't seem to shake the Friday afternoon bike feeling like the old Dukes. Is that really the case for 2010 Triumphs, or are they all now much of a muchness.

Re: Head or Heart?
The ZX is growing on me, but it's not really floating my boat. Not ridden the ZX, but I have done a few sessions at Brands Hatch on the 675 and really liked it.Kwacky wrote:The one that you look at and it makes you smile.

Re: Head or Heart?
I don't think there are any particular horror stories about the 2010 Daytona as a lot of minor issues were ironed out in the 2009 update. It is quite stiff and tall though if you're a bit short! Just noticed you've already tried one so what are you waiting for lol?

Re: Head or Heart?
Having had 2 675's, an '06 and an '11 plate, I'd go for another '11 plate 675 in black and gold colour scheme. The engine felt smoother than the early bikes. I'm no TT rider but there was a noticeable difference. I'd have another one in a heartbeat (goes to drool on autotrader)

Re: Head or Heart?
I think if go for a more colourful one. I really liked the black zx6r, but did find a black bike never really stood out. I think red really suits it

Re: Head or Heart?
I'm bike shopping in a couple of months time and have my eye on a few. A Daytona has just been added to the list after looking at them on autotrader.

Re: Head or Heart?
That one has the early clocks so is probably pre-update or been fiddled with!Monty wrote:Going to have a look at this one on Tuesday.

Re: Head or Heart?
AFAIK the early clocks should only work with the early ecu and vice versa so there are some fairly large question marks over that bike!

Re: Head or Heart?
How can tell the clocks are different? They look very simular to this 2011 bike
