4 Times BSB Champion
Well done to Shane Shakey Byrne on being the first person to win 4 bsb titles. He genuinely earned it and rode a very impressive season.
Gutted kiyo couldn't race and take the title to the wire. Like a true sportsman's Shakey was equally gutted he couldn't challenge the very fast and inform Kiyo for one last round.
Well dine Shakey and all the best for a speedy recovery kiyo, I for one look forward to another epic season in 2015.

Re: 4 Times BSB Champion
Yeah he just loves bikes, racing and winning and perhaps that's what keeps him young at heart.
I really admire he goes for the win even when he doesn't have too. The mark of a true racer IMO. To go out with a double win is pure class and Shakey all over.

Good result for Tommy Bridewell to finish 3rd in the championship.
Anyone no where he is riding next year and what the trouble is between him and Josh Brooke's.

Re: 4 Times BSB Champion
I've been on track with him, he nearly punted me off in the morning and pushed my mate off the track at over 140mph in the afternoon. A few weeks after that he took Sylvain Guintoli out at Donington on the warm up lap and caused him to lose most of a seasons racing. Not long after that he caused a pile up at Mallory causing the race to be abandoned iirc, not that long ago (last year?) he tried the craziest overtake through Chris Curve at Cadwell taking Michael Rutter out of the running for the shoot out. Imho his riding classes him as a knob, the only place I've seen him riding tidily is on the Island, I know short circuit racing is desperately competitive, but he needs to respect the guys he's riding against.

Re: 4 Times BSB Champion
Yeah fair point Deegee I remember all that too now you have mentioned it, but in fairness I did thing his riding had calmed down from those crazy, reckless Mallory and donnington days.
Is there something personal between him and Tommy Bridewell ?

Re: 4 Times BSB Champion
Pass. I'm only judging on what I've seen and experienced, whether there are antagonisms or political shenanigans going on within the paddock I really don't know. I'd be surprised if there weren't in some way as it's a fairly small bunch of guys, I was chatting to an ex-BSB team owner earlier this year and his views on a certain rider (not Josh Brookes btw) were acidic to say the least.
P.S. I really can't say who on here either, as last I heard there were legal issues going on.

Re: 4 Times BSB Champion
I think he was hoping to be the big fish in the Milwaukee team and was over shadowed by a young upstart from Wiltshire.
Tommy Bridewell is one of my favourite riders - the sort of guy I'd enjoy having a beer with.
I like his attitude to it all considering the loss his family suffered
