They've finally decided to get screens to put around crashes.
It pisses me off when you're faced with a 3 mile tailback on the other side of a crash because want to gorp.

Re: About time
good idea, used to be a nightmare when I did the M25 in the mornings, filter through a jam only to find the accident on the other side and its just slow because of morbid idiots

I've still to see of hear of any such screens... It is a good idea though, I know the germans do the same on the autobahns.

Re: About time
Probably because it takes too long to get them to the incidents and setup in time to be of any use.

Re: About time
Health and safety probably reckon it's too dangerous for them to be setup on the carriage way...
That would be funny if you didn't think there was a possibility it could be true

Re: About time
Rubberneckers will still slow down just to look at the screens, plus you'll have the "Blue lights Syndrome". We've all seen it - a copper sat on the hard shoulder, filling in his report for the incident that was cleared 10mins previously, his blue lights are still going because he's stationary on the side of a motorway/dual carriageway and there's always a queue of numpties that slow down just because the blues are going and there *might* be something interesting to see.
