Police are searching a Berkshire property belonging to Sir Cliff Richard in relation to an alleged historical sex offence
No arrests have been made and Sir Cliff was not present at the property.
A police spokesman said the allegation involved a boy under 16 and dated from the 1980s in the South Yorkshire area.
The search is not connected to Operation Yewtree, police said, but officers from that operation have been notified.

I thought he was living on an island in the west Indies? A tax haven with no extradition to the UK.

I don't get it. Why did the police tell the press that they were going to search his flat and then let them film it?

To deflect from the fact that the police have let the public down very badly with the way they ignored victims claims about the abuse going on in the 60's 70's 80's and 90's.

Re: Is Cliff Richard next.....?
That's just not right. An aligation has been made and a search warrant has been granted. This is not in the public interest, at least not until charges are made.

When I heard they were searching his computer, I was kind of relieved to hear it wasn't anything to do with looking for new songs.

Re: Is Cliff Richard next.....?
Wtf were they searching a place in Berkshire if the alleged offence took place in Yorkshire?
Sounds like a copper somewhere is trying to make a name for themselves, the media are not supposed to be told beforehand about Police operations, and for them to be tipped off it sounds like the old police/media drinking culture has returned despite the Levison recommendations. This thing stinks.

Re: Is Cliff Richard next.....?
This one is really stinky IMO. Why drag someone's good name through the media until they have some proper evidence.
The media should be banned from speculation where an active police investigation is ongoing.
