not happy to see the GS go but I owe one of the best friends I've ever had a bike that he's happy with, so it's happening.

Very impressive moral integrity mate.
May karma reward you accordingly.

I have liked that bike since I first saw it, will be interesting to see how things go.

It's in great condition, nice modification list, radiator guard, fender extension, belly pain, crash bars, hand guards and a satnav mount.
It just needs some luggage and it's ready for next year's tour. I think we're looking at Ireland next year.
It even sounds good with the standard exhaust, although a V-twin always needs more noise.

Well the GS is on it's way to Superbike Factory Macclesfield and I am the temporary custodian of one VERY nice Moto Guzzi V100 Mandello S.
I have ordered some parts for it on Sergio's behalf including a tank bag ring and a Gargantuan (for a bike) 65mm socket for the rear wheel nut, he will pay me for those.
Also figured out how to re-set the trip's as part of the saved data is top speed, the last owner managed 121mph, good man!
Hopefully getting my hands on my flight proven XR on Saturday, I'm told when it hit the pothole it flipped 3 or 4 times and went at least 10 feet in the air before landing on it's wheels in a ploughed field, pretty much as soft of a landing as we could hope for. Actually wish I had seen that, sounds spectacular.

that is a nice bike indeed, and kudos for you going out of your way to make it right with Sergio

I think he likes it, he sent me a couple of pictures this morning now he's washed, polished and coated it in ACF-50 anti corrosion treatment...
And a bit of good news about the XR, it's main frame is straight and damage free, the fork's are twisted but not bent so should re align easily and the rear subframe is bent a bit.
So my eBay spree so far is a left inner fairing, left headlight, rear subframe and a set of less aggressive brake pads (EBC HH)... I'm trying to avoid used parts from the EU as that import duty stings a bit.
