That's simply not true, not in any shape, way, or form. Not even remotely.

Sort of true.

IMO electric cars are like a sticking plaster on an open femur break : Makes it look like an effort is being made, but pretty much useless at realistically addressing the actual issues.

The worlds problem is not actually "how efficient our transportation systems are", but quite simply that there are far too many human beings wanting to be transported.
^ This elephant in the room is constantly ignored and avoided, because we are all too selfish to accept the truth (& far far too selfish to consider discussing any remedy)
Furthermore It also seem that a "Democratic political system" is inherently geared against such thought processes, in that to win control the elected government must appeal to the largest number of voters.?

If Government gave us the tools to fix this, then many would.

We have done quite a lot in our house. Simple things that make the tiniest of differences but lots of tiny differences make a bigger one.

I have reduced my car usage, walk more,no longer have shower gels, soaps etc in plastic bottles, all light bulbs are led, lights switch off when not used. None of that will save the world but if we all did it.

I would love to go down to one car only (and make that one electric) but the Govt need to give me the ability to do that by not relying on it.

As I keep saying, electric cars are more than just about climate change , it's also to make the air we breathe so much cleaner than now. I was shocked at how much cleaner Scandanavian air was when we went there. You can literally taste the difference.

This year with the back up of the company I now work for I am going to do much less miles in my car, stop over in hotels and work from home when possible
I always put my heating on eco and switch off when I'm out ,all bulbs leds but I only use when needed and dont leave lights on when not in rooms
I try not to buy anything wrapped in plastic and recycle or re use,I buy most of my food from a local organic farm
From a work perspective the industry I sell machines to is having a massive shift away from plastic packaging to cardboard which imo can only be good
It doesnt matter what vehicle petrol, diesel hybrid electric in general we need less cars on the road and people need to stop being lazy and get off their arses
I am sort of like a hippy chav

Thank you for that vivid explanation, Blade.

I always thought it was short for "babe". Not that that's helping matters.

It'll be kinda like "boo" in African-American slang, then.
Which is from The South, and from French for "beau".
Or some other nonsense like that.
