It's not often that gadgets get purchased in the Nutz household these days, so when they do the day needs to be marked...
My 8+ year old LCD has finally had enough of peppa sodding pig and won't turn on properly now, so I've bought a nice new telly.
It's nothing really flash, just a 40 inch Samsung LED. I have to say that now I've got a proper HD telly linked to the HD sky box I can see the difference.
While I was scanning round I did take a gander at the all singing all dancing 4K telly's.. They look nice with the curved screen, but I'm not sure that I could really see the difference in the picture quality and as it only really makes sense with blueray players, I can't see how you could justify spending best part of 3 grand on one..

Agree with Kwacky there is only so much the eye can see.
40"LED 1080p is a good option we bought one for the the bedroom and the hd is better than the plasma in the lounge.

Now if they showed some decent porn in the showroom on these 4k TV's they would soon sell.

Interesting facts. Porn was one if not the first thing recorded on a motion picture camera. The biggest market for HD is porn apparently however I m old school and still don't think you can't beat watching it live.

Hmmm...I'm unsure how comfortable I am reading a conversation with peppa pig and porn all in the same thread!!
Though I have a big HD 3D telly and still have never linked it up with PC to watch porn maybe I'm missing out!!

Re: Happy New Telly Day
I recently bought a 55" Panasonic LED jobbie.. replaced a 8 yr old SD LG plasma. Theres an app you put on your iphone or ipad and you can stream content to the TV. So I "could" watch my porn that way when I had the house to myself...if I was so inclined
