Isle of Man - 8th to 10th September
You know the score by now.
Off to the Isle of Man for a couple of nights. Eating cake, drinking beer, being threatened by the locals and a bit of bike riding inbetween.
We'll probably stay in Peel again, unless there's a massive protest against it.
Nothing booked so far but I wanted this one in the diary.

Re: Isle of Man - 8th to 10th September
I wish I could. Every year I say to myself I will save the time to come along but once again I haven't got any more time left for holidays and potentially may not have much to fund many more holidays soon!! As always please take loads of photos for us on the mainland!!

Re: Isle of Man - 8th to 10th September
I'm planning to go through my whole years shifts and see when I will be working etc as I am entitled to same amount of holiday including Bank holidays with Mars. Also I'll have more time off generally so hoping my pre-booked holidays won't be as much as I intended which means I should be using less holiday. If any of that makes sense
I can see I am working from the 10th (first day back). So potentially only need the one maybe 2 days off - day for recovering. But I do need to get on one of these weekends!!!

You don't need recovery time. All of us go back into work on the Monday. The sunday is very relaxed, it's just the ride home that's tiring.

Did consider that as well just take the one day off. What time do you guys usually leave IoM on the last day?

We catch the afternoon ferry. From memory I think we're in Liverpool for about 5.30 pm

Re: Isle of Man - 8th to 10th September
It would be around 5 hours to get back home from Liverpool. So think I would need second day off or catch earlier ferry eg morning and have the one full day tearing up the roads there, I'm not a fan of riding at night!! I'll have to take a think about it all and find out what's what at new job. I will bere this in mind and let you know in couple months

Re: Isle of Man - 8th to 10th September
It's not that bad TBH rossgo. Even with the traffic we had last year we where through Birmingham before the sun set. Quick stop on the toll for some food and then onwards. I think I was home about 10, and yes off to work the next day.
I would recommend a b&b the night before though, as from experience, a 5 hour ride up there and then a full on day on the island is a bit much.
I'll try and find the link of the place I stayed at last year, it was nice, did a decent brekky, and was round the corner from duke.

After pay day I'll be booking the ferry and a room at the same BnB we stayed at last year. http://www.isleofman-bedandbreakfast.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Isle of Man - 8th to 10th September
Just got the shock of my life, my gaffer granted me those days off so if you've room for another then i can tag along.
Im supposed to be paying off the credit card but fun is more important.
Let me know which ferry crossings and hotel to book.
