just did a bit of looking around, it seems from its introduction in 1992/3 it was priced at about £7400 (http://www.simonreid.net/fireblade/info ... ions92.htm), by 2004/5 the price had rocketed to the dizzy height of £8500 (http://www.visordown.com/reviews/motorc ... -2004-2005) over those 12 years, and now a minor jump to over £15k over the next 12 years...... indeedBlade wrote:£23000 for a fireblade

Re: 2017 Honda Fireblade ?
It's used but it's new? Eh?
Seems strange that they've listed it at that price when all of the dealers have had a price list sent to them from Honda UK.

except for the token piece of plastic covering the frame hole .. i thought they could have done a bit better.duke63 wrote:Journalists are riding it this weekend at Portimao.
Does look good .
"80mph" sorry officer I possibly could not have done that I'm no Valentino Rossi.

Re: 2017 Honda Fireblade ?
There must be a good mechanical reason for it. What would you want to remove at that height?

Re: 2017 Honda Fireblade ?
It's the same frame as the previous bike. I think blade said it was an engine mount access hole the old fairings covered it.

Re: 2017 Honda Fireblade ?
There are a few videos filtering through now and it sounds like a race bike on track with the standard exhaust.

Re: 2017 Honda Fireblade ?
That's a bit surprising,. I wonder if the initial uptake wasn't as high as they had hoped for?

Re: 2017 Honda Fireblade ?
Honda have often done promotions and IMO there asking price is too high and maybe the high price and instant reduction was always planned to make it seem a bargain to potential buyers. Everyone loves a deal even if there not actually getting one , but think they are.
The Base model is over priced by about £750-1000 and as much as I love Blades the SP1 is R1M money and it will need to be special or discounted to take sales of the top spec Yamaha IMO.

Re: 2017 Honda Fireblade ?
I think if the only thing I could find wrong with a bike is a couple of bits of plastic in a awkward place then I've prolly found a pretty exceptional bike.
Plus....my knees would probably cover them when I'm riding the thing.....AND, it's not like I didn't chop the Daytona all to hell to get it looking 'right'.
So saying....that exhaust looks like a power pod from Kirk's Enterprise.

Re: 2017 Honda Fireblade ?
The covers are not the end of the world and not too unsightly but poor standards by big H imo.
If your paying the thick end of nearly 20 grand for an all new motorcycle from the world's biggest motorcycle manufacturer who have a reputation for quality then they could and should have done better imo.

Re: 2017 Honda Fireblade ?
watched a few review videos last night and the electronics sound Great. they are raving about the simplistic suspension tuning on the sp but would i pay all that money over the old bike for the electronics if it was my money i dont think so.
