Been on charge for most of the morning and I've purchased a multimeter
Battery with bike off is 11.9
Bike running/idling battery is 11.1
Bike held at 3000rvs battery climbs to 11.8

Re: Charging issues have returned
Sounds to me very much like it is the charging system then mate, rather than just the battery.

Re: Charging issues have returned
Spudda, did you charge the battery either off the bike or disconnected from the leads?
Seems odd a battery reads 11.9v after charging, it should read 12.8v or more immediately you remove it from a charger.

Not all of it, lean the bike up against a wall with some cushions. 20 degrees should do it and put a bucket under the generator cover.

Re: Charging issues have returned
I'm out at work again Spudda, but home on Thursday. Yup the MOSFET is an upgrade to the shunt type the Daytona has. Upgraded plug from stator wiring to r/r as well.Spudda wrote:Kiwi .... sorry mate

Re: Charging issues have returned
The is a coolant hose connection that is in the way and makes it a right PITA to remove the cover, and I did read before I did the job the first time you needed to remove it (which requires draining the coolant system) but you don't. I had it apart at least 3 times and never removed it.Monty wrote:Not all of it, lean the bike up against a wall with some cushions. 20 degrees should do it and put a bucket under the generator cover.
Also at normal oil levels and on rear track stand only I never got any oil from removing the cover.
My email is in your PM that I sent in Nov. Let me know if you can't find it.

Re: Charging issues have returned
Considering the MOSFET is an RR upgrade, is there a stator upgrade or a stator that will fit?
I thought I read that someone had fitted a Ducati stator or a 675 ????

Re: Charging issues have returned
Rick's Motorsports offers the stator upgrade... the guy is great to deal with, and knows his stuff. Plus it's WAAAY cheaper than the POS OEM unit.
