Re: What are you doing today ??
Just got back from four days away tidying my dad's garage out. He didn't half keep some rubbish...and the occasional nice surprise. Found a silver penknife, bottle opener, corkscrew that was given to his grandfather for services at work. The silver marks appear to date it around 1892 and the company name, Callender Cables is inscribed on it. They were based in SE London.
Also have two Edmondson railway ticket stamp machines. The date in one of them is 28.04.1952 which presumably is the date it was last used as the date would have been changed from a box of metal stamps which are not present.

Killed it? You've caused more replies than most with one post, it's got me hooked!Stew wrote:Right, Ive effectively killed this thread, thanks for the support, it is appreciated, so lets get it going again, not today but tomorrow I'm planning to take the bike out for a bimble if the weathers ok, got a couple of minor things to do on the Zed and a couple of hours on the PS4 with any luck
Just let me know if you need a carbon-knuckled left hook delivered to anyone's teeth at 100mph anytime soon!

Re: What are you doing today ??
Anyhoo, as you say, back on track...
Day 3 of the Insanity Workout this morning. Once we'd finished sweating we went out to get some dog food.
Then undid our hard work by stuffing our faces at Pizza Hut.
Then tried to undo the sin of a BBQ Meat Feast by taking the dog out on a family walk.
Got lost.
All in all, our lazy Sunday has turned out to be not very lazy at all!

Re: What are you doing today ??
As with the others Stew, you've not killed the thread at all IMHO. Also I feel you are doing the right thing; staying calm(ish) & letting the law do their job.
However, should they f**ck up, as Itchy points out a nice solid alibi & a friend from (Norfolk or Yorkshire or some-such) to attend to the twunt on your behalf.
Anyway,., Today I stripped down to my undies, filled an old bath in the garden with water & washed my dog.
As usual I got far wetter than she did.

Met up with Mick, had a little pootle down to Middle Wallop for some grub, saw some interesting flying things, and had a little ride on the Multi.... Very nice too.
Also had a disc dropped around tonight with a little bit of footage of me at Almeria, will try and post in a bit.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Arguing with a compnay about delivery of a laptop.
I bought the laptop on 6 months 0% interest.
As it's a finance deal it has to be delivered to my home address. I got the finance because I'm in full time employment. Can anyone see the snag?
I can choose any day for it to be delivered. Anytime between 8am and 6pm. Anytime. Anytime they feel like showing up. They can't give me a window or an afternoon or morning delivery time. They can't deliver it to where I work, even if I have my passport and driver's licence with me.
I might send it back and cancel the deal.

Re: What are you doing today ??
I think I would cancel it too.
I hate that typee of thing. And when you say you work full time so can't be there, they expect you to take some holiday to receive the delivery.
You'd never have an actual holiday if you did that for every delivery or home improvement etc.
Reminds me, we had a gas man leave a card. Tried to read our meter while we were away. The card said as standard "we will tray again tomorrow" and then the guy had wrote next to it "I will be early, ensure you are do not go out". Cheeky bleeder. We weren't even in the same country. I would love to have seen his face the next morning when we still wasn;t in.
