It's that time again.

Currently got an LG G3 which is ok but a little glitchy.

Looking at the Samsung S7. It gets great reviews. I see that the S8 is due out nearly next year so I could wait for that. Even if I don't go for the S8 the S7 should be reduced in price.

Any other suggestions or feedback on the S7?

It has to be an android phone by the way. No apple suggestions thanks.

I've got the S6 Edge. The only noticeable difference I know between that and the S7 Edge (the only one that made any difference to me at least) was that the S7 is waterproof.
If the advert is anything to go by, that is.

Haven't had any major problems, the battery isn't the best but I do have the brightness set to Max and have a couple of high drain apps so that's probably down to me. Not sure on the S7 but they usually try to improve things, don't they?

My wife has the brightness set to full on her phone. I keep telling her it floors the battery but she says she can't see the screen otherwise.

I read somewhere it's the iPhones 10 year anniversary next year. Apple will have been saving big things up for that phone so I'd expect the s8 to be pretty special too. I'd wait personally.

I really like the LG myself...but I don't use a phone for very many things, TBH...or very often, for that matter. I had the telephone-techy-person empty all the apps. that I don't need, out of the thing, and it's worked great since. Mega-fast.

Same for me as far as iPhones go....I had two or three of them and couldn't make head or tail of how to make them work simply. Even a 911 call when I really REALLY needed it wouldn't work. Therefore trash.

Look at the Chinese manufacturers, one plus, huawei, etc...

You can get a bloody good phone for not much dosh, and you and drop out of the ~£40/pm payments as well.

A year or so so I paid out for a oneplus one, cost me £250 outright. It's still cutting edge spec and will be kept for at least another year or two.

I've had the S7 for almost a year now and love it. Battery life is degrading a little now but it's still miles better than my S4 was. The screen is beautifully coloured, pixels so small you cannot see them individually by eye, the camera is superb and Samsung seem to be on the ball with keeping the Android updates rolling out.

I got mine in the week of release for £31.20/month (£99 upfront) with Ultd Texts/Calls and 6GB Data.

My gf just got the same deal for £20.40.... so unhappy!! haha. It was a Black Friday deal at Vodafone for £24 but I get 15-20% corporate discount which reduced the price further

When I had a look yesterday the average seemed to be £32 pcm with 6gb of data. I did find £37 with 12GB.

My wife's phone is due for renewal soon as well. I may try and do both at the same time to see if we get a better deal.

Try Vodafone.. say to them that you saw their offer of £24/month (£30 upfront), Ultd Calls/Texts, 6GB data and see what they can do.

You'll likely be able to get a good deal especially with the 2 phones. No one else compared to Vodafone on that deal and they're now the No.1 network in the UK

I went to sim only this time, i found my samsungs have lasted really well. My 4 year old S3 is still working fine and i use it to read books in bed on and the battery still lasts a good few days just reading a couple of hours a night and my S5 finished it's contract about 6 months ago or so which would make it about 2 and a half years old now and will still do 2 days of use just about. i always had a case and a screen cover on the S5 and it's still in pretty good condition. It's been dropped a few times but the case has soaked it up mostly so far.

I was paying about £45 a month with 10GB data when i had my old contract but since i went sim only it has reduced to 4gb data, unlimited calls and texts for £8.99 a month and i kept my S5. I was going to switch to another network as i saw a £9 a month sim only offer and got offered £8.99 a month when i called my service provider to cancel as a "loyalty" price. I figure i can buy a phone if i need one in the future if this breaks as i'm saving about £30-40 a month right now since i would have probably ended up with whatever the newest flagship model would have been if i had have upgraded, i also still keep the opportunity to upgrade at any point if required.

I need a new phone as this one is starting to play up. It switches its self off and keeps rejecting and accepting the memory card I've put in it.

I haven't had a vodafone sim for at least 7 or 8 years myself as they were terrible when i was with them and i never fancied chancing getting locked in for a year or two to give them another try. I suppose most of the complaints are customer services related so if everything works ok then you shouldn't see those issues.

EE are the worst I've dealt with.

I cancelled the contract on my daughter's phone. They owed me some money so they said they would use that as credit against my next invoice

They were crap when I was with them before, then I went to Orange then they got crap. Then O2 and they got crap and now I'm with Vodafone again...
