Face tattoos

I guess I'm getting old. As much as I like tattoos I still see facial inking as a no-no unless it's cultural, for instance you're a native of a pacific island.
I've yet to see a face tattoo on a western person I like.

Re: Face tattoos
They're dumb, like the people who have them.....(face tattoos, not all tattoos)
I mean...it's OK to be a fcuking idiot I suppose, but why advertise it??
I guess it gives us all a heads-up on the person, without actually undergoing the agony of talking to them.
I don't have any tattoos at all, having being blessed with the gift of physical perfection, as all Geordies are.

Re: Face tattoos
A bloke at work had a huge pitbulls head tattooed all the way up his neck and one side of his face.
Believe me if he asked you if you liked it you would have definitely said YES

Re: Face tattoos
With you Kwacky, maoris have a deep cultural history in moku's (traditional face tattoos) but not traditional face tats scream prison time and ass wipe. Being very stereo typical here but it's my experience that has conditioned me.

Re: Face tattoos
Obviously if some people want to have them done, that's fine with me. I certainly won't be telling them my thoughts on the subject

Well apparently this sensible looking chap had his face tattoo and ears cut off to look like a parrot.
Unfortunately I think he got parrot and dickhead mixed up

Re: Face tattoos
I've seen that series of photos before and similar in person. The top one is more gang related but the lower is quite traditional though possibly not in context. My old man lives on the fringe of that crowd and I've had beers with more than one similarly scary looking fellas. Thing is I found most to be bloody great blokes one on one, but it's their heavy criminal aspect that lets them down and dishounours the wearing of traditional warrior moku.Kwacky wrote:Obviously if some people want to have them done, that's fine with me. Re: Face tattoos
I've posted about the Mongrels before on here. I think it was to do with a funeral for one of their guys.

Re: Face tattoos
I found out the hard way they don't like to be overtaken on their bikes, when I was in my early 20's on my RZ250r I was sitting behind one on his Harley going thru' a gorge I knew well. Waiting for a clean open spot and went by so I could enjoy the rest of the curves to full effect. Few kms out off the gorge I went to overtake a car and as I was along side it, the Mongrel Mob rider went full throttle between us and gave me the finger. Scared the living daylights out of me!Kwacky wrote:I've posted about the Mongrels before on here. I think it was to do with a funeral for one of their guys.

Re: Face tattoos
The biker gangs are a bunch of bitches. There was a few guys who would show up to AA/NA meetings when I was up in El Monte.......the "Prospect" would have to go fetch the other guy's coffee for them, go check on their POS bikes that even a homeless person wouldn't touch......they have to do that crap for a whole year!!
Even the street gangs have that part down a bit better when someone is "jumped in"......takes them only 13 seconds of fisticuffs or something like that.

Re: Face tattoos
Best tatt I ever saw was on my dear old Uncle Billy. It was a tattoo of the warship he served on in WWII, and the tatt covered the shrapnel wounds he received on that ship.....can you imagine how much it would hurt getting scar tissue tatted......???
A very brave and quiet man.....I remember me Mam being astonished when I retold her some of the war stories he told me......"Yer Uncle Billy talked to you about the war???.......He's NEVER talked about the war with ANYONE. EVER!!"
I guess he figured because I was just a wee spelk that maybe I'd forget them. He was wrong about that.
Oddly enough, I think the only person who ever got the better of him was his wife....frickin' dour-faced old slag.
