Seriously the oil is not going to degrade over one winter sitting in a heated garage.

Bloody hell...
going back to the point - if it was me I would keep changing it yearly for the reason of you have no idea if the oil has degraded or not. The oil/vehicle manufactures state 1 year or XX,XXX miles between changes for a reason

A little googling says the oil itself won't degrade. Normal oil needs an additive that will degrade relatively quickly. Fully synthetic oils additives wear out slowly as it doesn't need the type 6 improver!

You're clearly not doing it any harm changing the oil but I personally wouldn't bother.

I would keep changing it. For 50quid it's not going to break your bank account and at least you are certain it's fresh whenever you use it.
