I'm on morphine now and it still hurts ,I've never felt pain like this it relentless and off the scaleCav wrote:Bone weakness caused by lack of movement over recent times or underlying health issues? I would be pressing to get blood tests done of all your vitamins, minerals and ANA ASAP. That will tell them if you need injections or supplements to aid things like fatigue, general aches (not attributed to the fractures, etc) or inflammation.
If you have a positive ANA result you can request a trial of steroids. I had it and felt amazing for about 10 days. 10 days could be enough to help your body recover.
As for the pain, what are you prescribed? I found a mixture of Morphine, Codeine and (I think) Ibuprofen worked well. When I felt I was getting addicted to the codeine I threw the tablets in the bin to make sure I didn't have any and just sucked up the pain. It was towards the end of the pain anyway so wasn't unbearable but I was a grumpy sod
They did a load of blood today for autoimmune function etc

Blimey Perkles. Not good. I hope they find something definitive as that at least will show a treatment path for you.

Bloody hell. And I was feeling fed up with a mouth ulcer last week!
I'll take that over a broken back any day. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery mate.

Re: What ails you today?
Ouch.. I was fortunate that the pain relief I had was sufficient. I know it sounds odd but I'm pretty sure you can take paracetmol as well as morphine. Typically pain relief only targets certain levels of pain so morphine alone will not tackle all the pain - a mixture is better when possible.Perkles wrote: I'm on morphine now and it still hurts ,I've never felt pain like this it relentless and off the scale

I'd double check they are looking at your vitamin levels too because mine dropped significantly when my ANA was tested positive. B12 and Vitamin D - both of which are massive fatigue boosters and make it even harder on your body to cope with what else is wrong.
Fingers crossed this all gets sorted for you bud - you must be exhausted

My energy levels are fine even though I'm missing days on end of sleep,it's the pain that's getting to me and every day I have a new inflammation or strain somewhere on my body

Re: What ails you today?
Feel free to tell me to feck off but is this one of the weird cases where you need to try and move around? Thinking about staying still, getting stiff, etc
I'm not at all telling you to start moving around more or whatever by the way !!

Re: What ails you today?
It hurts a lot less when I am on my feet but being on my feet all day gives me other pain and injuries so it's hard to find the right balance
I just spoke to my boss who is very understanding and said my job is open forever but they won't pay me indefinitley. Hence why my bike and s2k are going to have to go,I feel like I'm up shit creek without a paddle

Re: What ails you today?
How long have you been off now?
If it's any consolation, my aunty attempted suicide a couple of years back by jumping off a bloody tall bridge. She broke her back/neck in multiple places as well as both hips and she's 99% recovered and has been for over a year now...
I guess what I'm trying to say is, physical issues do heal - it just takes time.
I would hold onto at least the car for as long as possible though but I understand (with your in particular) that it is a seasonal thing. I'd still want some stuff I enjoy once I recovered

Re: What ails you today?
Well the kids are back at school so I'm half expecting the usual autumn cold. My son has got a sore throat so I'm sure that'll do the rounds in the kwacky household soon enough.

As expected my son came down with a cold. My daughter has it now, she's off school today. My wife is complaining of a sore throat.
