Re: What are you doing today ??
what do you think? More usable than the 1299 or do you want the outright grunt?
If you've been cleared on the 1299 this should be a cinch!

Re: What are you doing today ??
Nice road bike engine. Better fuelling and lighter clutch than the 1299 and quicker than I thought although that's ridden in isolation. I know from rocket having a 899 if ridden with other litre bikes the smaller Duke struggles. Saying that I really enjoyed the bike and easy to boss around and keep it pinned whilst feeding gears via the excellent quickshifter.

Re: What are you doing today ??
959 front end is quite soft and the brakes terrible. If they did a 1099 in a 1299s chassis I reckon that would be road bike perfection.
However saying that I was impressed with the 959 and had a good blast.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Puppy hasn't been great the past couple of days and was in pain so took him to the vets this morning, they recommended he be admitted for X-rays and examination because he wouldn't let anyone examine him. Just collected him and a bill for £325
It's pretty inconclusive without more detailed (expensive, £2-3000) scans, but are hoping that it's 'growing pains' and teething. Bit extreme for teething though. He's on tramadol and an anti inflammatory until a review on Thursday. Thank **** I took out the all singing, all dancing insurance.

Enjoying London in the hot weather.
Feck me it was hot today, but the lack of clothing on Duke of the women walking round certainly made up for it

However if the 899 is looking like the option that you're considering, FYI there's a lad on 675.cc who will be selling his very soon.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Just found out that a work colleague of the lass has a 1199 R Tricoloure and has never ridden it!! He previously owned a business and one of his clients gave it to him as payment for a debt. The guys wife won't let him ride it and his body shape probably isn't the best suited to a sports bike.

Sitting down for the 2nd thrilling day of a course on Evidence Based Teaching.
I'm not moaning, it's 3 days out of work in civvies, but it's teaching me techniques I already use, whilst simultaneously testing my ability to stay awake!

Snap Itchy. Not exactly the same but a training course on how to inspect a door locking system. Only been using it most days for 15 years and then they decide I need training in how to maintain it. Only bonus is so little to teach the course doesn't start to 11am and should be plenty of breaks to drag it out and then hopefully an early dash.
