Formula 1
It's been as dull as dishwater for a while now. Hopefully the sale to CVC will go through and they'll make some changes to the rules to make the whole thing a lot more entertaining.

Re: Formula 1
Lets hope. Problem is the manufacturers still hold a lot of the cards regardless of who owns it.
It could be great. It used to be before there were too many rules - I'd like to see them get rid of loads of them and let the teams innovate. I'd also want cars the drivers can thrash for 70 laps rather than preserving tyres, fuel, aero etc etc - boring.

Re: Formula 1
Boring as feck.
TBH, I don't see MotoGP as being all that exciting either....there's only a handful of drivers/riders in either sport that ever have a realistic chance of winning. I haven't watch either for a while now. It'll still be there when I decide to.

Re: Formula 1
We've had 7 or 8 different winners this year in MotoGP. How is that boring or predictable?

Well I didn't watch it, did I, so how would I know that?
Just haven't been keeping up, that's all. No big deal.

My dad watches the F1 he absolutely loves it personally I found it got boring a long time ago. A race seems to go on for a life time. Not for me!!

Re: Formula 1
Totally agree....F1 lost it's lustre a long time ago for me too. BUT!!! The speeds are pretty insane....I'm sure I mentioned the CART team I pitted with...I think we clocked 204mph when I had my ride in that thing, which is pretty frickin' insane...the G-forces are tremendous...my neck ached for days afterward.Rossgo wrote:My dad watches the F1 he absolutely loves it personally I found it got boring a long time ago. Re: Formula 1
Not really...it was just 'payment' for pitting for the team for a weekend. I thought the thread was about open-wheel racing....I was just sharing my experience of it. No need to be caustic.

Re: Formula 1
Even the street circuit of Singapore was boring. A massive crash at the start then just a procession

Re: Formula 1
A good friend who has been heavily involved in racing is 100% certain its fixed to keep the interest going. He also said Red Bull threatened to pull out as they were getting little air time... and suddenly, look, they are competitive again!!!!
They can do anything to any car from the pits - set it on fire, turn down the power, turn down the traction, increase tyre wear, increase power. Its very little to do with the driver.

Re: Formula 1
It did seem a bit weird that Hamilton had such a poor start seeing as he's usually so good off the line.
I've no idea if it's fixed but I wouldn't be surprised if there's money changing hands behind the scenes.
