First post...bit of guidance?

Hey all...

So last week I passed my DAS. Put my 2013 WR125X on the back burner and bought myself a 2009 Kawasaki ER-6n. Not the fasted bike in the world I know but I love it, I think it's a great all rounder. That said, I'm planning to use it for several things... One of them being touring. So my first question, and a boring one at that. What is the best touring screen and luggage I can get for the ER? I've just fitted a Garmin Zumo 390LM so I'm sorted for navigation.

Secondly, led conversions for indicators, hid kits.

Thirdly, single seat conversions... Do these exist for a '59 plate?

How much you looking to spend and how much luggage space do you need?

I'm a big fan of Fabbri screens. Not cheap but high quality.

Er6n is a great bike, my brother in law had one and really characterful, good handling bike IMO.

Touring wise, it depends on how much touring really. Might be worth some relatively cheap oxford panniers to start with. Backpacks are fine but can hurt your back after too many hours

Much will depend on what sort of touring you are doing. If you are looking at bigger trips i would consider some hard luggage and a topbox.

Thanks for the replys guys. As for touring, the word touring was probably exaggerating. I'm really talking long weekends to a week... Not months on end. Me and a couple of friends are looking at doing this one.

I recently bought some Oxford soft panniers for a now cancelled trip, 50 ltrs and expandable from a relatively small size, depend how long youre going for, I can get a tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mat and bits n bobs in there, dunno where you're based but you can always pop round and have a look/borrow etc sometime

Hi mate welcome to Tankslap I don't normally use a screen on my bike Honda CB1R but I've recent purchased a Puig screen of Flee bay incase I do a long trip in the future.

Stew - Thats kind of you but i'm in Kent, so a fair old trip away...I've seen a couple i've got my eye on though!

StMarks - That looks epic! What sort of upgrades and power is it running?

Bratty - I've had a look at some of them mate but i'm struggling to find a tall one for my year, found tall ones for 2012- and found loads of little ones but i don't know how much they would benefit me...I know they don't look that great, especially the tall ones but it would make long trips a lot more enjoyable!

The best soft luggage will be Kriega stuff. Its not cheap but extremely well made they give a no quibble 10 year guarantee.

Welcome in to the forum. The ER6 my dad has and tbh I find it a very comfortable Bike great choice :-)
