.... and then do the other side of the Peaks, Staffordshire, Cheshire and Derbyshire. It's the bit I've always saved until last on the other ride outs but always ran out of time. Will include Long Hill, Goyt Valley, Macc Forrest and bits of the Cat and Fiddle. Then maybe head over Itchy's leap in the other direction for lunch at the Royal Oak.

Re: Buxton Peaks Ride Out - Saturday 28th May
I came off.
It sounds worse than it is.
Going round a tight uphill right-hander, which seemed to tighten up more as I went round it...
My toe slider hit the deck, I pooped my pants a bit and the bike stood up as a result.
Now I know you're supposed to just try and lean it and hope for the best, but there just wasn't sufficient time (or skill!).
So me and the bike head for the grass verge and a massive chuffing rock. I think I hit the rock (I must have as there were scrape marks on it) and flew over the top, onto the grass and down goes the bike.
Once I met back up with Rocket and Monty and we pulled in to assess the damage, it took a good couple of minutes to list it all...
Yep. That's it. That one scratch!
Well, that and I knocked both mirrors out of place (and I whacked my hand on one of them, which hurts a bit) but as crashes go, I think I got off fairly lightly.
I'll do a write up later, going to chill for a bit now.

So it was all Rocket's fault!

Crash Corner!
Let's face it, if I can crash, pick it up and carry on, and still be giggling like an idiot at the next stop then it's not much of a problem!
Just been for another check of the bike. Can't find anything else.
My hand still hurts though. Not as much as when everyone shook hands as we departed and Monty's thumb clasped down right on my ouchy, but as I say, I walked away with absolute minimum damage.
Winner!
