Did you hear that radio programme the other day, where the expert was explaining how diet drinks genuinely make people fat.!

I've heard it before. There is good science behind it and the way the body reacts to the sweetners they use.

I'd not heard it before.
I tried to tell a friend of mine who "battles with his weight". Either he didn't want to know, thought I was lying, or he thought I was having a dig at him.

I don't think a lot of that sort of stuff correlates well into real life terms....I mean, the benefits of a glass of red wine a day etc. are constantly touted....but the people who drink wine in that manner are usually not using it to cleanse their palate and wash down a McFatburger Massive & Mega-Triple Fries w/ extra cheese.

Not fish and chips for friday dinner
You don't stuff with an offshore workers friday fish and chips.
Apparently the food budget out here has been cut to $18/person/day.
Happiness is not a destination. It is a way of life.

Did the obligatory pie and a pint yesterday at the rugby (twice), but froze our nads off after the weather turned and needed something hot after the final whistle, so we hit up the local pizza parlour and I did a plate of olives the size of ping pong balls and then a 24" pizza topped with anchovies, capers and more olives, accompanied by some vino collapso - stuffed afterwards though.
Got back home just before lunch and Mrs Gee did us proud with roast gammon and a host of supporting vittles with an apple and blackberry crumble for dessert. Stuffed again, but looking forward to supper.....

Another cheeseburger. For breakfast. Life on the wild side and all that...
Think I'll have cigarettes for dessert.
