Re: In, out or shake it all about?
Fwiw I took the opportunity at the weekend to ask a number of very learned people with open minds & global views.
The feedback was almost universally that.; Although the EU federation seemingly held "little affection" amongst them, we should (and will, apparently) be staying in.
Interestingly I wasn't subjected to any persuasive arguments to subscribe to a like opinion, or even any polarised views. Instead I listened to a great many points & illustrations to both sides of the argument that had never previously even occurred to me.

I've yet or hear a coherent argument from either side, which for me just leaves voting ideologically. What would Carl Sagan do?
I actually think it's a great shame we are voting on this. It's basically just to counter balance the threat UKIP posed to the Tories vote in the last election, and appease some back bench Tories.

Was watching the HOC last night...I have to say, regardless of political leanings, I think Cameron handles himself extremely well during PM's question time...very astute guy.....he shut one moronic lady down so bad it was almost comedic.

Cameron is effective on his feet and presents himself in a confident and assured fashion. He's a good ambassador as he comes across very well.

I don't like him and I've got no time for the lying money grabbing piece of scum
But that's not to say you can't give him some credit where it's due.

"More than enough??"
Hardly. He'll start making the big money doing the US university circuit once he's out of office.

I have no problem with politicians being well-paid...in fact, I'd prefer it...rather than rely on someone's ideals, which could change...at least with them being in it for money you'd know exactly where they stand, rather than some altruistic pipe dreams, destined to up in smoke!! (see what I did there??)

Re: In, out or shake it all about?
He won't need to, his dad a multi millionaire passed away in 2010 and he inherited £300,000 and a "gift" from his mum of £200,000. So half a million quid out of a multi million pound inheritance, yeah right!Perkles wrote:without a doubt a bit like that lying leach teflon tonyD41 wrote:"More than enough??"

Interestingly he chose to use the money to pay off one of his two mortgages, but not the one that was being paid for by the tax payer.
You could argue he had every right to do that, but don't then pretend to be "all in it together". He's not, clearly!

Re: In, out or shake it all about?
Monty...if it's his 'right' then what other justification does he need??
He's within the law and using it to it's best advantage, and his.....people can complain all day long that he's doing something they don't like (and they will) but if he's not breaking any law then sobeit and good for him...the laws are there for our benefit, not just to restrict our actions.

Re: In, out or shake it all about?
From my perspective that's a big problem with today's society - the argument between entitlement and doing the right thing
All too often we hear people telling us that they're entitled to do or act in a particular way, so they don't have to justify their actions.
He may be entitled to do it, but it's still wrong.

Re: In, out or shake it all about?
Why has the US got any say in what we do...their country fort for independence with lives being lost over it, we are in the EU and the older generation know what it's like to be outside of the EU. We need this vote, I think people are too scared to stand by ourselves because we have had the EU with us for so many years how do we know what will change, we don't. Typical d+ckh&ad US president, sticking his nose into other countries businesses, he needs to leave countries alone. They think they are god having their say, they seem to forget we are a strong nation full of good people who pull together in time of need, don't see them helping countries, only if they think they will suffer if they don't.
