Oulton Park 2016
Having joined a number of tankslap rideouts I've been made to feel thoroughly welcome, met some great people and enjoyed some great days out it's now my turn to organise something.
I've been to Oulton three or four times now and just love the place. It's a track that's a lot like the road in many ways with its cambers and hills. I live maybe forty minutes from Oulton and could store bikes in my garage over night before/after for those who live miles away if it helps. I've not set any dates in stone but the majority of trackdays there are on weekdays due to racing there at the weekend. So who's in? I'm going to be trying to make a number of visits so as and when I book them I'll update the thread for anyone wanting to join in and likewise if anyone's doing Oulton post up and I'll try and join in or at least pop down and say hello.

Re: Oulton Park 2016
It's a decent ride to Oulton for me which has put me off. But I would love to try it sometime.

Not been on it yet, but one of the instructors at FE described it as "Cadwell on steroids"
I'd be up for this new bike and dates dependent

Re: Oulton Park 2016
I plan on doing Oulton this year and if the dates fall right I will definitely go at the same time as others on here.
I'm likely to do Oulton sometime late June-September. Would be nice to meet you all

Keep an eye on dates Cav. The summer days tend to book up a good month or so in advance.

Fwiw Oulton seems to me to be a bigger track than Cadwell. I do like it very much, but it's simply larger rather than beefed-up IMHO.Monty wrote:Not been on it yet, but one of the instructors at FE described it as "Cadwell on steroids"

The fact that it has decent Garages is a very definite advantage though, and the Pits area is less "Agricultural".
Very thoughtful of you Andy, I'll drop you a message if I get there this year. Last year was fun, I left a few 675 parts scattered around it & had a guided tour of their very impressive medical suite too.

It's just over 3 1/4 hours for me, but I have said I want to do one "away day" this year..

Re: Oulton Park 2016
OK first of the year is booked for 13th April. Did an oil and brake pads change on a mates car and fitted chain and sprockets to his bike so he paid for us both to say thanks. It's his first trackday so he's booked us into novice. I'm not paying so can't complain
Fingers crossed for
Plan is to show him the way round in the morning, make sure he's comfortable and then see if I can lap him in the afternoon
If anyone feels like joining in...

Re: Oulton Park 2016
I can't make that one.
It's not the cheapest of tracks is it? There's a Saturday date in May which is £189. With fuel. food and a hotel I reckon I'm looking at £300.
All of the other dates seem to be a Tuesday or a Wednesday.

Re: Oulton Park 2016
Too soon for me, thinking about doing an afternoon at Darley Moor on Friday 3rd of June as a bit of a taster. Not a fantastic bike track, but it's 25 minutes from me and only 60 quid for the afternoon (100 quid for the day)

Re: Oulton Park 2016
Can't do Darley, I'm in France.
Let me know what it's like though. I only every see it as a place people use for racing. I've never considered a track day there.

Re: Oulton Park 2016
Oulton is usually pretty expensive at £150+. The majority of trackdays are weekdays because it's used for racing at the weekends.
