Where do you guys get your sprockets from?

I need a 525 46 tooth for the ZX6 and can't find anything on the internet. Steel or alloy, but don't want to change the front.

Did a few calcs last night and it looks like it's geared for 184mph and that's going to go up to 190mph when I fit the 60 section tyres. If I can find a 46 tooth it will bring it down to 177mph with max power at around 150mph in 6th.

You don't want a 525 sprocket unless you've put a 525 chain on it....

They're a 520 chain and sprocket that should make searching a lot easier (also, go on eBay and get AFAM or Renthal)

I went to a 60 profile rear and got a +3 rear sprocket. This geared it down slightly from stock (it's not particularly noticeable). I will be getting a -1 front soon and probably a +2 rear.

And yes a 520

Cheers dude, here you go. 15/46 on a 60 section looks to be a sweet spot

To confirm, 15/46 is -1/+3 ?? According to my manual that's right anyway aha.

With my 60 profile and +3 rear I hit redline in 6th gear with an indicated 176mph. It hits redline everytime I've done it.

I had 176 indicated with stock gearing and 55 profile tyres but has another 500/1000RPM to go

I've just ordered a chain and sprockets for my old bike as it has a very stiff link. Just spoke to a guy at biketorqueracing.co.uk who was very helpful and seemed quite cheap. 01373 464252. Phoning up seemed to get me a good deal! £105 delivered for an afam grade 7 chain and sprockets.

FYI, the speed in the spreadsheet for gears 1 and 2 (15/46) are the same as my indicated speed (16/46). Technically that means my speedo is under-reading but I highly doubt I've got a 176mph bike

Cav, yes there's no way it will do 176. That's just when the limiter would kick in for each gear. More important is the column "speed at max power" for each gear

I agree that speed at Max RPM is important, however I will hold onto a gear past max power at times. For example, going up to the last corner at Donington, I 'should' shift up to 4th but I'll only be in that gear for a brief moment before braking and downshifting.

This is the calculator site I used before now.. according to this my speedo is reading 100% accurately haha..

It's really good but it doesn't tell you what speed in each gear is at max power

You can do it but it's not as slick as your spreadsheet...

Look at the ZX6r gearing as standard, in first gear you don't get to max power until your doing 75mph

Haha.. to be fair, you have to be doing around 55mph before you can get the front wheel up just from throttle.. I've never been able to launch the bike well, I could definitely get to 60 faster on my old SV650S

This probably explains why my old bike seemed faster on my local B roads, well that and the fact I'm now riding like an old lady.

Big difference where you get full power and only about 10% less bhp

I think you're right. You probably had to change gear more on the older bike though... I find I can typically hold 3rd of 4th gear down most B-roads.

There's no question which would be quickest on track though

I don't know....it all comes down to some very indefinable factors....at least for me. We ramble on all day long about how powerful and fast our bikes are, and maybe how much faster we'd like them to be etc.....yet I see very many threads or posts about how quickly a bike can stop.....I've said it before...one of the best upgrades I ever made to my old Daytona was to upgrade the brakes to the Brembro setup with the ultra-grabby-stop-on-a-dime sintered pads.....just having that confidence in your bike's ability to get you out of trouble made a huge difference.
