Re: The Big C ......
From todays FB post
She's a little brighter today, bit more chatty but still tired with a sore, stiff neck. Also it was encouraging to see that she is off the drips and is taking painkillers in tablet form.
Her vision is a little blurry in her right eye but it has been irritating her and shes constantly rubbed it for the last two days which hasnt helped. I've asked the nurses to make a note and for the doctor to have a look. Its probably just a little infected but best to safe than sorry.
She has had another MRI scan which the doctor requested but we havent heard anything regarding those, so thats the next chase.
Hopefully this is another positive step and she'll show an improvement everyday .... thanks all

Re: The Big C ......
Well that sounds like recovery is starting well. Is the eye problem the eye itself or from the op near the brain?

Re: The Big C ......
Taken from this evenings FB blog
Late again I know but they're lapse on kicking me out
Ok .... Dunno where to start ....
She's out of bed and sat in a chair by the side. Chatty, bright but still feeling the effects and a little bit sick. I took Olly with me tonight which was a tonic for her.
They've tried to get her walking but she's unsteady, so they've given her a Zimmer frame to use which has helped.
She needs a few eye drops as the blurriness is an infection
and she needs a new dressing on her scar as its peeling off a little ...
Major scar, about 7" long with about 20 stitches .....
So that's about it really, nothing else to report
....
Oh and I forgot
the doctor came round and told us the MRI was all clear so they've got the little bastard !!!!!!
GREAT NEWS AY ????????
ANOTHER plus is the radiotherapy they need to do on the other is also going to be done at the QE.
So progress !!!
Thanks for all the well wishes

Very proud to know you Spud. I can't comprehend what it's like for all of you to go through this, but very glad to hear that you're kicking it's ass!

Re: The Big C ......
Mate - that is exceptional news !!!
It's when I got the same news about my Bamp (grandad) that I became emotional about the whole thing.. when I first heard the news I was straight into the "what can we do about it" mindset; I never got emotional, always objective. This kind of thing makes you re-evaluate life though doesn't it
Absolutely thrilled for you and the family Spud

Re: The Big C ......
I didnt see her on Tuesday night so went this afternoon. Shes looking really well. Bright, chatty, moaning at me so I know shes getting better!!
She's unsteady when walking so she's using a zimmer frame to get around and she might need to bring one home.
Possibly out by the weekend, where she'll spend a few days around her ma n' pa's.

Thanks for the update. I'm sure a spell at her folks house will give her some much needed rest.
Will you be using the zimmer frame to help you get back from the pub?
