Re: What are you doing today ??
This morning woke up at 0430 with banging and screaming from upstairs with one of them.saying he was a hooligan and going to hurt the other fella.
Went to bed with loud music and woke up to that. Listened for a few minutes and next thing they were screaming and shouting walking down the stairs and took it outside. Had to call the old bill as thought someone was going to get seriously hurt.
This is what drugs do to people stay up all night and act up, stupid stupid people. they don't work and live off us hard working people and they can do this to us. WTF is that all about. I get up at 0450 in the morning, oh and very nice of them.to walk outside and in front of the flats with families inside them swearing and shouting. Anti social behaviour team will hear about this

Broken with tradition and gone to mother in laws house for dinner. We've prepared everything so it won't take long to get ready.
Strange not having my father in law about. I suspect they'll be tears before the end of the day.

Filling my face and blowing raspberries on my Grandsons stomach (it's in my job description), I'm also completely knackered and will be hitting the hay early tonight after an early start this morning to run Mrs Gee's Aunt and Uncle home after staying for the festivities.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Bit of a slob out day today. Just need to clean out the Guinea Pig hutches, take the boy out for some exercise and then do some investigation to work out why we get so much condensation in the house..
That could also be another cause of my chest issues..

Re: What are you doing today ??
Jon, its poor ventilation mate, simple as that, the house is most likely very well insulated so the house becomes like a tupaware box. As well as taking out the humid stale air, you need to allow for replacement air, unless this is working at correct air changes and levels, the house will get moist, i.e the surfaces temp difference to the moist humid air turns to condensation. Walls, windows, surfaces.
Do you have any form of ventilation ?
Do you have supply air mechanical or possibly slot vents in the windows/Frames - older house those old bricks with holes in them?
We produce something like 12 ltrs of water a day (each) just breathing and living in the house, without baths, showers etc,, so you can imagine how much moisture is trapped in the house if the ventilation is not up to scratch. The warmer the air the more moisture can be trapped, so the build up does not take long. A slightly colder surface and the condensation develops.

Re: What are you doing today ??
I know you don't need me to say it, but you're spot on mate.
I don't think there is much ventilation in the house, certainly no air bricks or window vents. I brought in a cheap weather station thing I used to keep in the shed and it had 90% plus humidity in the lounge and bedroom.
We've had windows open all day and the humidity has dropped to about 65% in the bedroom and 75%in the lounge. We are also going to borrow a dehumidifier to give is a boost.
But, clearly, we need to do something about the house in general so I think in going to have to save some pennies and get a builder round.

Flying to work, well Darwin for the overnighter before the Timor leg and helicopter ride tomorrow.
This is a really hard break to be leaving from.
I may get stuck in Cairns yet. There's a cyclone developing up north and its traveling directly from Darwin to Cairns which is my second leg flight today.

Re: What are you doing today ??
D6Nutz as stated above ventilation will help a great deal. Dehumidifiers work but obviously won't change whatever's causing the condensation. Leaving windows on the latch helps a lot as does fitting trickle vents to the windows. Just a thought but my mate had the same problem recently and his was damp was caused by drying clothes on radiators! He bought a tumble drier and his damp issues vanished!
