Re: Lorenzo denied say in Rossi case
Lorenzo is being badly advised by his lawyers they should have never submitted the request.
He needs to butt out and just be a good sportsman and professional about the matter.
If he is faster than Rossi he has nothing to worry about and should just do his talking on track.

I cannot see Lorenzo and Rossi being in the same team next year and probably Rossi wont even be in Motogp next year.

Interesting thought Duke and I'm sure it would be a headache that Yamaha management would prefer not to have.
Don't they both have a contract for 2016 with Yamaha though ?
Maybe Rossi could switch to wsbk Yamaha and campaign their new R1

Please Rossi don't go to wsb just bow out of the sport and moto GP gracefully when you retire

Re: Lorenzo denied say in Rossi case
If he wants out of motogp without upsetting Yamaha who have him contracted for another year it could be a good get out option.
However saying that maybe Rossi has a little get out clause in his contract already. He does seem a shrewd operator.

No one has ever won both WSBK and Motogp championships, that's the sort of stat i suspect Rossi would like to beat.

Good angle Duke I like your thinking and I imagine Rossi's ego would too.

Re: Lorenzo denied say in Rossi case
The biggest problem there to Dorna would be that Motogp would lose a huge audience to WSBK.

Dorna own wsbk. What they loose in one hand they gain in the other.

Yep i know but I'm not sure they would be too happy about it as Motogp should be there main asset.

Plus I don't think Dorna will come into it.
Rossi will just do what he wants although I do think he will be respectful to Yamaha although saying that he dropped Jerry Burgess with little concern so who knows.

Re: Lorenzo denied say in Rossi case
Agreed but they may have no choice in the matter and money is money to them and who knows what politics is going on in motogp with the manufacturers and dorna in the back ground.duke63 wrote:Yep i know but I'm not sure they would be too happy about it as Motogp should be there main asset.
Honda said they would walk before using control software on a standard ecu but that story has gone very quiet recently.

Re: Lorenzo denied say in Rossi case
Maybe Rossi moving to Wsbk could actually help Dorna in their war with Honda and Yamaha regards motogp regulations.

Re: Lorenzo denied say in Rossi case
Wsbk used to be extremely popular in the UK ten years ago probably because of foggy. I have no idea why it currently isn't popular as Brits are completely dominating the class.

Re: Lorenzo denied say in Rossi case
Looking at that I would say the win is between Pedrosa and Marquez with Rossi finishing the podium.
Looking at it with all the information I think it is safe to say Rossi will not be on the podium..
