Re: Kiwi Krash Report
So I got some quotes on repairing my leathers and it's not really economical. I can get a exact replacement set for $699 (clearance on old stock, was a $1300 suit) or pay $4-500 for repairs. But I've been told by more than one repairer my stitching around the rest of the suit will be stretched from the 3 offs I've had. I kind of see there point. My elbow ground thru' the suit at mid forearm, so it obviously isn't as snug as it once was.

Re: Kiwi Krash Report
My wife used to question me why I spent so much on clothing.
"It's for when I crash"
"If I crash, not when"
"Nah, when".
She's not asked me since

On that, I got an email back on one quote, and this was her closing line of the email...Monty wrote:At least you got your monies worth, everyone else just rides around in theirs wasting money.
"But, it's totally up to you, you might never crash again. Just let me know."
She obviously doesn't know me

Don't change your name - if i recall correctly you binned the D6 as well at Eastern Creek!!
I guess u could change it to Bandicoot.... but that's more Aussie than Kiwi.
Guess that bed is now out of the question...
I had a greeny many years ago and it seemed to like lying on its side in the middle of the road too.
Mend up. 3 crashes from a suit is good value. Champions sell used hire suits and new Berik gear for under $1k. Think they'll ship if required.
Bike danage looks pretty easy to repair. Just another excuse for more shed time. But i wouldn't crash in the future just to spend more time in the shed!!

I plan to be back out by the October track day Wazza. Unfortunately I'll have to take back the bed offer, I may not be in this house much longer.wazza675 wrote:Don't change your name - if i recall correctly you binned the D6 as well at Eastern Creek!!

I crashed the D6 twice at Eastern Creek. Low side on 2 and the over the bars at the old 9 hairpin.
I've found the exact same suit marked down to $699. I paid $1300 when I bought it. But might shop about and get a one piece this time.

That's what I reckon too Kwacky, a good weld should be stronger than the surrounding metal.Kwacky wrote:I'm no expert but that looks like a welding failure to me.

Re: Kiwi Krash Report
Are you on Facebook?
If so, check out track junkies sales. Heaps of new and used track parts. I'm pretty sure I saw some Kwak gear recently and there are plenty of suits there too.
Still waiting on info about the track day before I commit.
Bike needs tyres, oil change, fork oil done, brake bleeders and system bleed/clean, battery, new warmers.... it never ends, even in winter.

Re: Kiwi Krash Report
Bruising is starting to fade a bit now...
you can see where the thigh/hip padding in my leathers stopped. Glad invests in there or that bruise would be a lot bigger!
Elbow still pretty manky but seems to be starting to repair, and managed to keep an infection out. Had to scrub a bit of track out of it initially though

Sorry for the late arrival here Kiwi glad the bike isn't so badly messed up. But Jesus those bruises look bad. Hope your repairing well and you have been spoilt by your missus. Hoppe you can take it easy around the house too.

Re: Kiwi Krash Report
I wonder if that may be related to the underlying cause for your crash Kk. Perhaps the bike & kit attention is less of a priority than you are leading yourself to believe.kiwikrasher wrote:Nah, no sympathy here for crashing.
Anyway, pleased you weren't too badly dinged, and I hope that those aches from the bruises fade soon, but mainly I hope you get everything sorted out & back to being yourself & contented soon mate.
