I don't really get the point of racing at Monaco. Practically no where to pass and even though Hamilton came out of the pits second he had the pace to pass given the room to pull it off. Its not racing, it's a chess game. And now the cars sound like strangled lawnmowers I really have lost any interest in it.

Boring though it is, I do love Monaco. The sport needs a kick in the arse but as has been said, Monaco is the showpiece. I'm thinking of going in the next couple of years, I bet it's quite a spectacle and after going to Monaco last year on the way back from the MotoGP I love the place, really beautiful coastline down there.

It's more about the drivers and it's the one they all want to win. Yes the actual race is crap, but the circuit pushes the drivers more than the cars. You don't need the best car to win just the biggest underpants, a bit like the TT.

I mean the driver makes the difference at Monaco not so much the car, a bit like the TT and nothing to do with overtaking.

They could have got through the whole race this year on a single set of soft tyres so they aren't pushing the cars to the limit, just the drivers Goolies!

the knackered it when they resurfaced the "circuit" its now smooth as any other racetrack , it used to be hard to drive it and it used to break cars , sadly no longer the case . Indycar has been much better racing for the last 2 or 3 seasons and so far this year its been immense , the cars apparently have more downforce than the F1 cars and no power steering , which means they are a handful when trying to run on/over the kerbs .

I like the American series. It's got good racing in it. Very rarely do you have a procession. I used to love the CART racing.

I can't figure out if the debate here is about the circuits or the series??
Street circuits always seem like a major compromise to me...fans don't go to the races, so you take the racing to the fans, etc....as with anything, there's going to be a compromise or three along the way. But a road circuit is one thing, a city circuit is something else....doesn't work for my tastes, but that doesn't mean it doesn't work.
