How would you get the bikes down there ? I'm think that as I have a class1 license we could maybe hire a decent size wagon with a tail lift and take a load down in one go, just a thought

That last company linked to has more than 10 pickup points. You have to pay extra, but it's probably cheaper than taking the bike half way across the country.

The drop of point for me was a bonus, as it was pretty local, the first time I rode my bike there and got a lift home.
That is obviously a big point for those not living so close.
