Baffling

Been trying the bike with the baffle in and the baffle out.

What is other peoples preference ?

There is very little difference on my zx6r but that's because I've still got the cat under the bike.

I know my speed triple was too loud with the baffle out.

I guess it depends. I ride every day so a bike that's loud is going to get on my nerves.

I haven't had any first hand experience with your pipe Blade, but as long as the noise isn't ridiculous I'd go baffle out, I'd say it's the way the pipe is designed to run.

I'm glad we don't have noise limits at the track cause my 10 wouldn't pass ever!

Tbh my bike is quite quiet with the baffle out as its a full size can with a lot of noise attenuation.

I was thinking more around the legal position and the old bill.

Is it legal to remove the baffle if the noise is not excessive ?

Surely any issues should be judged on the noise level not the method of construction and what parts are used.

My crossplane is decat and db killer removed.. Plus I think the baffles are worn in the cans.. It's effing loud. After riding my tiger on stock can it now kinda annoys me riding the R1 in that state.. Or now I hit 40 on Tuesday maybe I'm ageing and its the first sign :-)

Baffle out for me. The boys in blue will only be interested if it's exclusively loud.

for road use definitely baffle out, you want to make sure cars can hear you.
I was in London the other day and a bike came past me on the inside , didn't have a clue he was there it was so quiet.

Since fitting the Arrows without DB killers, I have noticed more cars are aware of me approaching much sooner and move over. Especially in traffic queues.

My cans are just way too loud, especially with the open air box..

I want to get some baffles to bring the noise down but car find anything suitable at the moment.

Careful Nutz as it could screw the fuelling up fitting baffles. Maybe that's the best excuse to just enjoy the noise

My last bike didn't run right without the baffles in, it went really flat. After i changed the exhaust system it was both louder and more economical and i had a much better time in traffic with cars being able to hear me coming when filtering. I think a bit more noise is a good safety feature when filtering.

I think it depends on which exhaust you have and on which bike as to whether you run the baffles or not, my son doesn't run the baffles in the akra's on his R1 but I have to run the baffle in the can on the daytona

That's because the cat is in the can on the Daytona, so it becomes a straight through exhaust when you swap the can.

Blade if you can recall mine from last year, stubby race cans , 65mm outlet, no baffles, cat still in though, she sings to the heavens! I will play you a melody on Sunday . BTW it's a hell of a lot safer as pretty much everyone hears me coming ️️
