At the time it was heart stoppingly beautiful.
It still looks DDG 20 years on IMHO.
However (sorry Duke) I now prefer the looks of my 675.
The true test, I guess, will be if my bike still retains the same impact in 20 years time.

Still utterly beautiful, and yes I still would.
Even though I would need a fire extinguisher in my rucksack, and my very own Osteopath for an afternoon afterwards.

Iconic and still desirable indeed. Dunno if I could afford the upkeep.
I keep looking at the t595 Daytona or first 955i which are now about 5k Aussie or less in winter... I'm sure I could afford another set of stands, spare some extra garage space and justify the cost of club rego and insurance....

I like the old Daytona 955i. I came very close to buying one but was offered a crap price for my Sprint RS

I was offered a crap price for my 955i (the much maligned '02 model) when I bought the first 675 I had... so I changed dealers and saved $1800.
When I bought the '02 on run out I almost bought the older model but it was the same price... how I wish my heart gad ruled my head.
I had a sprint RS and it was a great bike... but is ugly now.

They're ugly looking bikes but pretty decent all rounders. I used to do track days on mine. The beloved Yellow Whale.

Nowt wrong with the motor in those 955i/T595's, my first trackday was on my old 595, so much rain they closed Cadders. Second time round was at Snetterton and I found a lad on a 996 that was about the same ability as me, had a great time but nearly fell off when the suspension threw its hand in and the exhaust grounded heavily through Riches. Slowed me and the lad on the Ducati down as he was behind me and saw it all.

Very easy to live with, but mine splitting its crank, stops me from recommending one to anyone (or any Triumph). Still bloody ugly though...Kwacky wrote:They're ugly looking bikes but pretty decent all rounders. I used to do track days on mine. The beloved Yellow Whale.

916 still very pretty and not looking that dated, apart from the tail unit, that has not aged well.
