Re: Redding sets podium target for 2015
that will be very difficult , no doubt he has the talent and commitment but his first year on a factory spec bike with a brand new team I imagine there will be a lot to learn not just about the bike but how the team works and how the team works together

but Marquez walked into an already established team , this is a brand new team , the Marc VDS moto2 team has stayed in moto2 and they have put together a new crew for motogp , they have some excellent personnel including the crew chief from johnny rea's WSBK team last year but its still a new team

Doesn't matter IMO. They could have put Marquez in a team comprising a dog, a cat and a 6 year old donkey and he would still have won

I agree but I think marquez could win on anything from the off , Redding on the other hand will take time me thinks, I hope he proves me wrong though I like reddings riding styleBlade wrote:Doesn't matter IMO. I disagree after ready the guy martin book and the David Jefferies book recently having a well oiled team with a decent bike matter nearly as much. Could have the best rider in the world but they have no confidence in the bike they are not going to win.Blade wrote:Doesn't matter IMO. Redding is great to watch in a race and definitely not scared of a scrap, I remember his battle with Marquez in Moto 2 at Silverstone in 2012 fantastic racing, it would be great to see him battling with the top contenders and winning a race but we shall see.
I get knocked down but i get up again.

I'm not saying that he can't do it , I really hope he is right up the front challenging for podiums and maybe even wins , I just think it will be a mammoth task given the quality of the opposition and the facts I already stated , if he does it will be even more of an achievement in my opinion .
