Re: Cold Weather riding
Got some fecker pull out on me while I was commuting this morning, managed to stay upright but nocked my mirror off and mate a little mark on his door, asked him to get a quote to save on using insurance losing my no claims etc, glad he came back with a stupid price as I decided to call my insurance who basically said feck him he pulled out on you so let's get your scooter fixed through his insurance and we'll get you another one to use while we're repairing it, let's hope Bennetts have got it right as they seem to think he's to blame for turning right and not checking his mirror first !!
I get knocked down but i get up again.

Re: Cold Weather riding
If he pulled out on you with out checking it was clear first than that to me sounds to be his fault.
Glad yoiyr OK mate and hope you get well looked after.

Re: Cold Weather riding
Cheers guys, left shoulder a bit sore this morning but I expected that, the scooter doesn't sound too good as if the zorst as come loose but the impact was the opposite side to the zorst so dunno what other damage the bump could have done, I'll see how it is this morning if I'm not happy I'll leave it at home but really don't want to use public transport, if the insurance company don't get me a courtesy bike by the weekend I'll get the cb1r ready to use for commuting for a while.
I get knocked down but i get up again.

Re: Cold Weather riding
Sue the fecker. Get him to pay for the shoulder and the scooter. Both can pay for a new bike ![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/emoticon-0105-wink.gif)

Re: Cold Weather riding
If you can't use the scooter is it possible to use taxi's and get receipts and charge them to his insurance. Speak to the legal cover people I would imagine they should be able to advise you of your rights and the best course of action. Its not your fault so you should not be out of pocket or expected to make inconvenient arrangements.

Re: Cold Weather riding
Definitely tried cold weather riding today, as I pulled out of my road I went past a massive puddle that was covered in ice. To be fair I kind of expected it as it was before 9am and there had been a heavy frost. What I wasn't expecting was the large puddle coverd in ice about 2 hours later on the apex of a left hander, it does kind of focus the mind slightly when you are looking through a pretty quick corner over a sheet of ice ![Whew (whew)](./images/smilies/emoticon-0141-whew.gif)

Re: Cold Weather riding
I think riding on days like today make you a smoother rider. It might not make you faster but you think more and certainly plan ahead as you're going along.

Re: Cold Weather riding
Lol...yeah know what you mean... Left stoke with snow on the road. Was like a blizzard. Wiping visor every minute to remove sticking snow.. 3hrs solid rain on way home.. Again thankfully not fried in heated jacket but was partially wet through

Re: Cold Weather riding
Since I sold the bike and bought a car the weather has been crap mostly so I haven't really missed it much so far. i'll get the moped MOT'd when it dries out though.
