Re: What are you doing today ??
Housecleaning yesterday......had this little pisa chick staying with us for a week....her 4 year-old boy was due in for heart surgery at CHOC, which is maybe half a mile away...so what am I gonna do? 'Course they can spend the night....I'll even take them to the hospital.
The surgery was postponed for two days...
Then he was put on a list...
Yesterday, pisa girl started moving her crap into my house - "Edie said it was OK??"
No it bloody well isn't!! Get all this crap and get it out of here....."But where am I supposed to go??"....You can go anywhere you like love, anywhere but here.....me lass has the good sense to know I'm pissed at her right now, and is staying out of my way....blames it all on the 'language barrier'. Heffer.
And on another note.....don't you just HATE whiny kids?? My room-mate has a couple of kids...boy & girl,, 5 & 9, and they're not usually too bad when they pop over....and me lass's kid (7) is pretty decent too....but this little Ramon fecker.....HOLY FECK!!..."Mama...mama....mama....mama....mama..ma..ma..ma..mama...mama..mammy...mammy"
Feck lady, get off the cell-phone for 17 seconds and answer the kid!!
That stuff drives me insane....I was a very docile child....I was also deaf, which means you don't really make a lot of noise (it's more common than you think, most kids grow out of it by 5-7)....you just sit around and grunt a lot....something I've never grown out of.
My room-mate's kid's think I'm part of the Wehrmacht....they're terrified of me....me lass's daughter thinks the world of me....always wrapping me in blankets etc.....I think she's been missing a bit of discipline, or a father figure or sommit.
But those whiny kids....surely I'm not alone in this....I wanna dropkick the little bastards!!

Watching video footage of a lorry versus a motorbike. Only going to be one winner.

OUCH!!
I could tell you a lovely story from Supt.41's files about a lorry and a biker.....but you wouldn't like it.

I've probably seen the photos.
To be honest we don't get too many motorbike cases. Lots of car ones though.

God bless you for you and your work, and for anything even approaching it....I know you 'seal it off' or sommit, but I couldn't do it for a second....you're livin' it, and 10 mins later you're stripped naked, cut out of your leathers "Oh no, not the boots!!"...and laying on the roadside taking transfusions.....and I didn't even care, I was way beyond that.....sorry, your post struck a chord/nerve. Vein. LOL.

It's the people who turn up at the scene and have to deal with it and the aftermath who are the heroes.

Indeed!! I look back on my own wreck and I'm like "Seriously Darren....you HAD to pass there???...you couldn't wait for two more fecking seconds??? Now look at you, you frickin' moron!!"Kwacky wrote:It's the people who turn up at the scene and have to deal with it and the aftermath who are the heroes.
BUT....it's that time....time to look for a new ride...I'm thinking a used Thrux to get back into it....and obviously, waiting 'til I'm back on UK soil.....need to get some track time in!!

You are planning on taking a thruxton to the track? Interesting choice.

Sure, why not??....they do race them, you know?
I dunno.....I'm just itching to get back in the saddle, and 'cos of my situ it's gonna be a few months at least, so I'm throwing options out there.....seen plenty of guys on 250Rs that blow the frickin' doors off the rest of the supposed "fast group".

Oh don't get me wrong, I wasn't saying it was ridiculous to take one, more it wasn't the first bike I would have thought of to take to the track. And with my track history I'm right off taking any road registered bike to the track, let alone something as nice as a thruxton.Kwacky wrote:I've seen a Thruxton on track days. Re: What are you doing today ??
Sorting out some stuff for a mate who was killed in the summer in a car crash. He was a massive Birmimgham City fan. A few of us have got together and done various bits and pieces so he'll be remembered. It's touching how amazing people can people at times like this, the response has been staggering. A lot of money will be going to a local charity to help poor kids get into sport. I know my mate would appreciate that.

Mrs shouted me so ran down stairs as little on was not very well. I got the job of cuddling just as he decided to show me how the scene in the exorcist went.
30 mins later all washed and clean again and he was running round the front room being a plane....

I always tell new parents you know your truly loved once you've been pissed on, crapped on and spewed on.
And yes Monty I know exactly what you're thinking about right now!

Oh, I know you weren't mate.....with that frame of thought, I'm thinking "get faster on a slower bike", if that makes any sense?....plus, a Thrux is about the coolest fecking bike in the world, and you can pick up a nicely modded used one for next to nowt....well, at least for a lot less than new, and it's basically the same bike.
Remember Peter weedy. from D600.org?.....he used to get that 600 down onto it's fairings, yet he managed to knock 4 seconds a lap off his times on perhaps the most knackered SV650 I've ever seen in my life....sorry Peter, but that bike looked like it had been through a crusher.
Option 2 is just buy a S1000R and flip everyone off as I blow by them and hang my leg out on the turns like Rossi (and everyone else).

Kids do seem to recovery incredibly quickly.
I might steal some of my son's blood to see if it works for me.
