Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
I went there a few times a couple of years ago. There was an insane number of people there then.
I remember doing one ride out down to Brighton. With second man drop off you where waiting up to 10 plus minutes for the tail rider to arrive.
Which reminds me, must look into RoSPA for next year.

Ed there was a very nice lady on the meet and greet, she was the one who talked it through with me and got my details. Can't remember her name sadly. Does your mum ride too?

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Seen a few guys from the Rat group get on board with this. After hearing how things can be on the observed rides, I am not likely to sign up personally.
Nothing bad, but I have been riding how I do for long enough, I would not enjoy the ride. After all I ride for enjoyment.
I got good feed back from the Surrey Police on my full days riding with them, learnt some great road craft. So that will do for me. Can always get a refresher should I need to.

Same for me, I'm sure I'd learn a lot from them but it's too prescriptive for me

I'm still laughing Paul, nearly a good as some of your earlier unintentional humor. Ross you need to view the post on a PC or a phone not using tapatalk.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Thanks Ross, kind of you to say, but I have never been with TVAM.
I would say that it is mainly down to the skills I have picked up riding with others people over the years, who have most likely done these advanced riding skills, my time with Surrey Police doing the bike safe courses, and the fact I spend a large part of my day driving these fine roads of ours
.
This is why getting out for ride outs is great fun, you learn from others, it's not just about the cake lol. I do like to be at the back of groups (unless I am leading of course lol) watching other people's road craft and awareness.
Every day is a school day when your out on a bike.
But cake, well that helps.

Good news is the swingarm is fine, just both bearings have distentigrated, but the outer housing has protected the swingarm.
Quoted about AUS$90 new bolt, bearings and sleeve.
Found a couple of other small problems stripping it down, so will sort them as well

Booked it in with Mike. It needs a service, the exhaust has got a wobble on it, the chain probably needs replacing and it's had a beating this year.
