15 miles of cycling and about 3 miles of walking. And two hypos. Which was nice.

First session with the trainer in about 3 weeks. I nearly passed out. He's on holiday now so I've got a couple of weeks to get some practice in before the next session.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
Should have had a big back session last night but I had a bit of a headache before I arrived and after 20 minutes I couldn't do any more. It would have been a killer session as I've got DOMs from what I managed.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
I'm just going to copy & paste my FB status, I'm too knackered to type anything else out!
So there I am, lying on the floor, retching and uncontrollably shaking, surrounded by big sweaty shirtless men whooping and hollering with the occasional high five thrown in for good measure.
I'm not sure if I've just been introduced to the world of Crossfit, or if I've just been gang-raped.
Either way there's a funny taste in my mouth!

Oh uh - you're going to become a crossfitter!
I know a couple of them. It does get very impressive results. But they love talking about it.

Ha ha, I know what you mean, but worry not. This isn't going to be a long term thing (if I repeat it at all), it was more of a bonding session with the US EOD boys out here.
And fair play to them, they were pretty fit.
I however, was not!

Re: The new improved fitness thread
Today's something different came courtesy of the USAF Combatives training.
Basically their hand to hand fighting system.
Really enjoyed it, learnt some things, dislocated my shoulder.
Yeah, that's right.
Crunch, pop, ow.
Luckily, it popped back into place quickly, easily and painlessly.
The Yanks have given me a medical check, x-rays and some pain meds. I'll be fine but I've been told no heavy lifting for a week, if not two.
Which is a bugger as it's chest day tomorrow!

Re: The new improved fitness thread
Cycled about 10 miles and walked about 2.5 miles today. Pushbike's in for servicing and new kevlar lined tyres this weekend so I'll mostly be walking until Sunday....

Went to the gym to try and burn off the calories consumed today, but I wasn't in the mood. Part of me is wondering what the point is this close to the op.

I can't believe you've found a way to repeat that joke on the forum!!!Blade wrote:Don't knock gang rape, statiscally 9 out of 10 people really enjoy itItchy wrote:I'm just going to copy & paste my FB status, I'm too knackered to type anything else out!

Re: The new improved fitness thread
Legs today. Again.
Shoulder's still sore after dislocating it a couple of weeks ago, so laying off the upper body stuff.
And the lack of lifting is showing. I'm still eating as if I'm on Op Massive, but with only working my legs I feel like my arms are shrinking. My gut is definitely expanding!
This det is not going to plan.
Still, finished off the leg press sets with 670lb on there. Had more in the bank, will have to beat it next time!

Re: The new improved fitness thread
Had a couple of Upper body sessions this week. The shoulder is holding up but it's like I've not lifted before. Doing 100lb (about 45kg) bench press and struggling is quite humbling, especially with so many massive people out here.
But I'll keep it light, I'd rather look weak and get the strength back eventually than push too hard and **** it up all over again.
Another leg day today. 225lbs (102kg) on squats as a finishing set of 4. A weak core and spindly legs limit me on those. Although the leg press finisher of 805lbs for 4 was quite a boost for someone that's been called "Sparrow Ankles" in the not-too-distant past!
I wonder if I can make the 1000lb mark before I leave...

Re: The new improved fitness thread
Doing some exercises at home to test out the arm. It seems ok for most of the movement. Taking it easy though so I can see how it is tomorrow.
