But slow on updating here but a few weeks ago sold two bikes and bought one.

There is now a Ducati Hypermotard 698 in my garage, which was a demo bike.

Only a few rides so far but getting used to the foibles of a very focussed type of bike. Fun is at the very top of its agenda, being very light, agile and more than enough power for UK roads.

:D Ok so far. I’ve only done a couple of hours max on it so far. I have a lower seat on order which might make things worse. ;( ;(

Re-homed them after 18 months out in the cold Buxton weather.

About 175 miles around North Yorkshire with a coffee break at the Manor Cafe near Layburn and pizza at Pateley Bridge.

I'm getting used to the very different nature of the XR, it's pin sharp and loves to rev where the GS was supremely comfortable and a low revving torque beast.

Strangely I find the XR very comfortable despite feeling every ripple of the road... This is a bike renowned for having a terrible seat.

Fabulous day out riding the 698 in Welsh Wales. Some cracking new roads found, back roads made for the bike, not much traffic. Happy days.

The forecast for today looked a bit pants, but by mid morning there was no sign of rain so I decided to take the MV for a spin. The wife said, just keep going and you can always turn back if it rains. So I did Image.

I'm now at 675 miles and the bike is very cross. It throws a big message when it's turned on about being passed it's service interval and I have to hold the menu button for 2 seconds before it will start. Phonecall time on Monday!ImageImageImageImage

I've got to go in to the office a couple of times this week so I checked over the sx and topped up the battery charge. It was 11.7v which is pretty good seeing how long the bike has been sat in the garage.

Plugged the MV to charge. Let's see if the battery recovers.

Booked the MV in next Tuesday for it's first service. Then it's playtime.

Took the bike in to work.

Booked the MV in for a service, new rear tyre and for the rear wheel to be powdered coated. It got badly marked when the rear brake failed.

Me too, in fact I've literally just got home. I took the scenic route, which is still much too straight for my liking really.
Still, perfect weather for it so it had to be done. (sun)

It's that time of year where it's cold in the morning and warm on the way home.

Since I'm having to use up my holidays before they expire, 235 miles up through some rough and twisty back lanes to Brough for dinner then home again.

The bike is taking some getting used to but after it hurt me so badly I am starting to trust her again but my hand is not yet healed so tomorrow will be a quiet day.

This let's the Dynamic Pro popcorn crackles out but with less overall noise and drone than the standard can... All my friends today said that the baffle needs to come out, so on Sunday it will be left at home.
